As temperatures rise, it's important to stay safe and healthy outdoors! Here are four common warm-weather hazards and simple ways to help prevent them:
🌡️ Heat Exhaustion
• Stay in the shade when possible
• Take frequent breaks from outdoor activities
• Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing
💧 Dehydration
• Drink plenty of water throughout the day
• Don't wait until you're thirsty to hydrate
• Limit alcohol and excessive caffeine in hot weather
🦟 Insect Bites
• Use insect repellent when outdoors
• Wear long sleeves and pants in wooded or grassy areas
• Check for ticks after spending time outside
🧴 UV Exposure
• Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher)
• Reapply every 2 hours, especially after swimming or sweating
• Wear sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat for added protection
