The Sweet Fox
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
13 years, 4 months and 23 days. Thats how long my journey has been. Birthing a business from my home kitchen into the beautiful storefront it has become. The road has been filled with mountains and valleys. Each step of the way, the Lord has guided us and blessed us according to His will.
Many of you know we attempted to sell our wonderful little bakery, in the hopes that the next owner would continue our legacy. Unfortunately, God has other plans.
Which means, that this is the saddest post I’ve ever had to write. Our lease is up in February, and Kissed Cupcakes will be shutting the doors. Not because we want to, but because my body cannot continue to keep going at this pace.
It’s personal for me to share this, but we have always been nothing but honest when it comes to sharing with our little community. Owning a small business is no small feat. It requires a ton of grit, an immense amount of passion, and an absurd amount of man hours to make it successful. Every small business owner will tell you this. My body can no longer keep up. It’s time for me to retire, spend time with my 9 grandkids, heal myself, and enjoy the time I still have left on this planet.
It is a bittersweet moment. Letting go of a business that I’ve given my heart and soul to. Saying goodbye to amazing staff. Watching my grandkids come to terms with no longer coming to “Grammy’s K Cup Shop”. Some of them grew up here.
But change is inevitable. It might not be how we pictured it, but it’s how God does. So while I am incredibly sad to see this part of our story come to a close, I am excited and hopeful to step into this new season.
Our cute little shop is perfectly set up for an aspiring home baker to come in and take it over. Bring your own flair, recipes, and following! Most bakeries have to build from scratch, like we did. But you could easily just walk right in and be up and running within a week.
So please tag, share, repost to get the word out! We would hate for our cute little spot to be taken over by anything but another bakery!
There are not adequate words to express how deeply grateful we are for this community and family that we’ve created around Kissed Cupcakes. It has been the greatest joy of my life to serve you.
May God bless each and every one of you.
