Another experience shared with us by a potential client:

Hey I wanted to share my experience anonymously with sin on skin. I went in for a septum piercing last year. I called to let them know I was heading their way for a walk in. They told me that was ok. When I came to the shop, the guy was outside smoking..I thought nothing of a cigarette break. Well when I started walking closer, I smelt w**d & saw a blunt in the ashtray..I don't think there's anything wrong with smoking bud at all. I thought maybe he was not the one who would be piercing me, but when I went inside he told me he would be the one doing the piercing. Well, I sure did turn myself around and back to the car. I think it's highly inappropriate to get high right before you're sticking a needle in someone's nose 🫣

Although this may not constitute a direct violation of the DPOR regulations, it is highly unprofessional. Such behavior would undoubtedly pose significant insurance liabilities.

Another former client experience:
************************************
My friend and I got tattooed by him a few times. One tattoo I wanted the lines fine-lined and he couldn’t do it. Instead of going somewhere else I just let him do the tattoo. It’s not horrible, but clearly should have gone somewhere else.

My friend went to get her tattoo touched up and he badly bruised the part of her body where she had the touch up done. She was complaining to him about being heavy handed and he just waved it off.

I also know he was using his tattoo shop to meet other ladies and have some “fun time” hence why his “wife” or “fiancé” (I can’t keep up) started working in the office…… if you can’t trust him you shouldn’t keep him!

Brian is the worst—rude and disrespectful and doesn't listen to anything you say. He charged me 300 for a peace sign and it's already faded. I don't like him or his disrespectful behavior. Wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

Another former client has reached out to share their experience from a few months ago.

Brian’s behavior is this experience, much like the others that have been shared, is completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and unacceptable.

**************************************************

“I have something to share. it’s been a couple months but ive been thinking on it. and seen one of your post again. so might as well.

i went in to get my girlfriends lips tatted on my back , my girlfriend brought in her own lipstick and he (Brian) gave her a paper to kiss and was trying to hold it for her to kiss it pressed up on his hand, obviously she and i felt uncomfortable at that exact second. well she took the paper and started leaving her lips marked on the paper and i told him i seen one that i liked (because she was doing it a bunch of times so i could pick which one to do) and i wanted that one for sure. and he proceeded to tell her to “just keep kissing the damn paper” “use all the lipstick if you have to” and she stops kissing the paper because she clearly hears me tell him which one i wanted. , then he tells her to just keep going “in case” so she said no , well long story short im getting tatted and he looks over at her n tells her to get off of her phone. so im like woah pause what do you mean she has to get off her phone tf and he just goes silent , very weird and strange. then i feel him go deeper. his hand gets heavier i could feel it way worse than i’ve ever been tatted (mind you i have 54 tattoos and this one was just one of many on my back. just a wrong and unprofessional experience and will NOT be going back at all”

We recently had a former client share an experience with us.
***********************************
“Hi, I just wanted to share my experience getting my septum pierced at Sin on Skin. When it was first pierced and I looked at it in the mirror, I could see it was visibly crooked—like one side of the needle came out farther back into my septum than the other. I told the owner (who was piercing me)and he gave it another look and said that I have a deviated septum. My nostrils are almost perfectly symmetrical so I argued this.

He then brought his daughter into the conversation. He had me look at her septum to see that it was crooked too, and a “normal” thing that happens. I continued to dispute it and he asked if I wanted it re pierced. I told him only if you can make it even to do it.

His wife came in the room when he was repiercing it and stood glaring at me the entire time. When he was done I asked to look at it in the mirror. His wife held the mirror out for me. I asked her if I could hold the mirror to get a better look for myself and she said no.

It was pierced in the exact same spot and was still crooked. Later research showed me that no professional should have repierced it on the same day without the original hole healed. I paid full price for the service and have vowed never to go back after the way they treated me.”

This type of behavior displayed towards a customer is highly unprofessional and unacceptable behavior for running a business.

As a customer you should always be treated with respect and be able to not only be comfortable, but also be able to ask questions if something doesn’t seem right.

Also, a PROFESSIONAL piercer should be able to pierce a deviated septum by actually evaluating the anatomy to work around the deviated area to make it look as aesthetically pleasing as possible, and shouldn’t need a family member in the shop to back them up on a botched piercing that the client isn’t happy with.
