Heading into week 3 of seeing patients 🤍

I can genuinely say I’m loving what I’m doing. Getting to sit with people, hear their stories, and help them better understand and manage their mental health has made this new chapter so rewarding.

I’m currently accepting children ages 8+ and adults for comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ADHD testing.

While I’m still in the insurance credentialing process, appointments are currently self-pay, and I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.*

ADHD in Women: It’s More Than “I Can’t Focus” 🧠🤍

When people think of ADHD, they often picture someone who can’t focus, can’t get things done, or is constantly hyperactive.

And while those can absolutely be symptoms, ADHD can show up in ways that are much less obvious—especially in girls and women.

For some women, one of the biggest struggles is emotional regulation.

ADHD may look like:

* Becoming overwhelmed or overstimulated easily
* Feeling emotions very intensely
* Going from “I’m fine” to frustrated, tearful, or angry quickly
* Having a hard time calming down after getting upset
* Being especially sensitive to criticism or perceived rejection
* Feeling easily discouraged when something goes wrong
* Irritability and a short fuse when overwhelmed
* Constantly feeling mentally overloaded
* Overthinking interactions afterward
* Feeling guilty because you “overreacted” again

Then add the more familiar struggles—forgetfulness, procrastination, losing things, difficulty starting or finishing tasks, zoning out, and feeling like your brain has 20 tabs open at once.

Some girls and women become very good at masking or compensating, so the struggle may not be obvious to everyone around them.
