"Sleep that soothes away all our worries. Sleep that puts each day to rest. Sleep that relieves the weary laborer and heals hurt minds." 💤

That quote is from William Shakespeare, and while he may not have had the opportunity to visit us for a float and benefit from better sleep, we think he would have been a frequent client if we had been in his neighborhood. Lucky for you we're in yours! 😉❤️

Floating once is great. Floating twice is amazing. Floating three times is the sweet spot for a lot of folks. But creating an ongoing float practice is where the magic happens. It can be transformative.

Each time you float, you are relearning something about yourself you may have forgotten. You are getting the rest your body desperately needs, and you're giving your mind a change to relax.

What does your float practice look like?

When we're doing household tasks, or stuck in traffic, or busy at work, our brains have a tendency to point out things we don't like. Instead, try to focus on what you DO like. Focus on what IS good.

For example, let's say you're washing the dishes. Focus on the smallest things that bring you joy. Maybe you got the water to the perfect temperature so it's warm but not burning your hands. Maybe you're listening to a really good podcast. Maybe your cat is rubbing against your leg.

Now, imagine you're stuck in traffic. Instead of getting frustrated about the traffic (which you can't control), focus on the beautiful things outside your car window. Can you find something beautiful? Can you see the clouds? The birds? What can you appreciate?

Switching our mindset to seeking out things we appreciate puts us in a better headspace, which can boost your mood and make it more likely you'll keep seeing things you like.

Trust the solution. The float solution, that is!
Some folks will ask, "but HOW do you float?"
And the answer is: "Effortlessly."

You'll float. You just do. The hundreds and hundreds of pounds of salt creates a dense solution which creates buoyancy and allows you to float. It's pretty wonderful.

"Dolce far niente" is an Italian expression that translates to "the sweetness of doing nothing."
Doesn't that sound lovely? Enjoy the sweetness that comes from, well, doing nothing. Relax and feel restored. Is it time for another float? 😉

Instead of going back and forth on whether or not you have time for it, need it, or deserve it -- make a promise with yourself right now that you're worth it.

When you set aside and schedule the time for creating wellness in your life, your body will thank you for it - immediately and in the days, weeks, and months to follow.

There are so many ways to meditate, both in and out of the float tank, and you might find that you like one more than another. One popular option is to try body scanning, which helps to bring your busy mind in tune with your busy body since they aren't always in sync. Here's how it works:

✅ Find a comfortable place to rest, ideally lying down.
✅ Close your eyes and start to notice your breath.
✅ Move your attention to one particular area of the body, like your feet.
✅ Notice any sensations, discomfort, aches, or anything you can feel in each toe, the arch of your foot, your heels, etc.
✅ You might even like to tense and release each area as you "observe" it.
✅ Spend a few seconds, or as long as you like, in that area before slowly moving your attention up or down the body to the next area.
✅ End with a few deep breaths.

We noticed that you aren't floating right now... but you could be!

Since you aren't floating, try taking a deeeeep breath. Use your exhale to let go of something that's holding you down. Then maybe go schedule your next float. 😉
