We're not out of the woods yet.... and neither are the ticks! We generally expect tick activity to climb in the fall, so keep up with your tick checks. Our tick check stations at three area parks will be up through September to guide you through a tick check. Find them at:

We’re in peak season for bat activity in Wisconsin! Bats are extra busy right now getting ready for migration or hibernation. This is also when bat pups are learning to fly.

Remember: if a bat finds itself off course and ends up in your home, never touch it with bare hands.

Seventeen Wisconsinites have become sick, including one who was hospitalized, with Salmonella and/or E. coli after eating alfalfa sprouts from Calco and Everything Sprouts brands.

The sprouts were distributed to restaurants and grocery stores. Check if you have them in the house and don’t eat.
