Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) is the public health agency for the City of Madison and Dane County. The Department serves almost 500,000 people in an area that includes 1,200 square miles of urban, suburban, small town, and rural environments.

We're not out of the woods yet.... and neither are the ticks! We generally expect tick activity to climb in the fall, so keep up with your tick checks. Our tick check stations at three area parks will be up through September to guide you through a tick check. Find them at:
✅Indian Lake Dog Park (entrance): 8382 WI-19, Cross Plains
✅Pheasant Branch Conservancy (Pheasant Branch Road entrance): 4864 Pheasant Branch Rd, Middleton
✅Elver Park (main entrance): 1250 McKenna Blvd., Madison

Seventeen Wisconsinites have become sick, including one who was hospitalized, with Salmonella and/or E. coli after eating alfalfa sprouts from Calco and Everything Sprouts brands.

The sprouts were distributed to restaurants and grocery stores. Check if you have them in the house and don’t eat.
