Did you know that between 50% and 80% of headaches are initially misdiagnosed?*

Headaches can be confusing, especially if they don't respond to traditional treatments or are accompanied by uncommon headache symptoms. Many providers have experience with things like cluster headaches, migraines, and tension headaches. But the world of head pain is much more complex than these three conditions.

The good news is that Orofacial Pain Specialists receive specialized training to diagnose and treat many of the less common forms of headaches patients can experience.

It's time to get the correct diagnosis so you can receive the correct treatment. Contact our office to get started today.

The most rewarding part of this work is seeing the transformation our patients experience. From the day we meet them, when they step in feeling tired and pained, to treatment time, when they leave expressing hope and relief. The best part is seeing people feel better, both physically and emotionally.

This recent patient was no different. They arrived at our office, expressing frustration over chronic pain. They weren't sure if they'd be able to find long-term relief.

After talking with and examining the patient's jaw pain, Dr. Guthrie created a personalized treatment plan. Within the plan, he included things the patient can do to manage their pain during flares. For patients with chronic pain, it can be essential to provide resources and education, allowing them to feel confident even after they leave the office.

If you're ready to find long-term relief, let's connect. Schedule an appointment today on our website.

Did you know your resting body posture can influence jaw pain? The good news is that practicing good ergonomics can reduce unnecessary strain and make it easier for your body to heal.

Here are a few tips for improving jaw health right at home:

• Focus on good posture: Sit up straight, both feet flat on the floor, shoulders down and relaxed.
• Keep your head stacked on your shoulders: every inch forward drastically increases the amount of unnecessary weight your neck has to support.
• Sleeping: Avoid sleeping on your stomach. Try sleeping on your side or back with your head in line with your spine.
• Pay attention to how you hold your jaw: Think "lips together, teeth apart" for your resting jaw posture.

Each of these steps helps maintain good posture and may reduce tension in your jaw, neck, and shoulders.
