The U.S. Department of Labor is officially putting an end to a 2013 regulation that put pressure on federal contractors to beef up disability employment.

A decade-old federal rule designed to increase employment of people with disabilities will soon be no more.

This week Wisconsin celebrates * 50 YEARS * of client rights laws for people receiving services for a developmental disability, mental health challenge, and/or substance use disorder.

The state has declared August 31 - September 4 as Client Rights Awareness Week throughout Wisconsin in recognition of the importance of treating people receiving services for a developmental disability, mental health challenge, and/or substance use disorder with dignity and respect.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said that it is launching a National Autism Missing and Endangered Person Alert Initiative.

A first-ever initiative will establish a specialized national alert system and bring together three different federal agencies to beef up the response if individuals with autism go missing.
