We are asking for prayers for an HMH member from Haiti who was studying in Russia and is now unable to leave.

Thank you to our HMH family who continue support our efforts financially, by following our posts and in spirit. We continue to provide financial support to our partners in Haiti. We will remain sufficiently vague here to protect our partners from gang violence. Please DM us if you would like more information.

From our partner organization in Haiti: “We Haitians can’t accept the news that Dr Paul Farmer passes away. The departure of Dr Farmer is devastating for us.”

HMH was stunned and deeply saddened to hear of the untimely death of Dr. Paul Farmer. Dr. Farmer's ethos and passion for global health equity has inspired so many, including HMH. His legacy will remain an inspiration and aspiration
for all of us. Rest in power and peace.

Dr. Paul Farmer, PIH's chief strategist and co-founder, passed away in Rwanda on Monday. Three decades ago, he helped found Partners In Health, which currently works in 12 countries around the world providing health care in impoverished communities and educating the next generation of global health....

“Breaking: A large has struck in Western Haiti near Les Cayes. The preliminary magnitude 7.2 earthquake is potentially stronger magnitude as the devastating quake that struck in 2010.”

It's been over a year since our last post but we have been in constant contact with our partners in Haiti. Some of our absence here has been due to the COVID response here and mere capacity limits and some because our posts may have put our partners in danger. Now Haiti is in a state of new despair. We stand ready to support our brothers and sisters in whatever way we can. Thank you for your continued dedication to our efforts. We will keep you apprised of the situation and how we can help. Onward and in solidarity.

A month ago Haiti’s number of COVID-19 infections barely registered on the global radar screen. But a leading medical group warns that has now changed

YOU helped to make this happen! A community in Haiti has food, soap, masks, and more because HMH friends and supporters responded swiftly and generously! We are ALL in this together! This is a marathon so please consider giving when and whatever you can! EVERY $ makes a difference. Stay well!

YOU did it! The response to our call for donations was swift and generous! As a result, money was wired (and received) to partners in Haiti and this package (containing pregnancy, HIV, Malaria and UA tests, blood pressure cuffs, gloves, printer cartridges and bar soap) will leave my doorstep tomorrow morning. THANK YOU! We are ALL in this together!

One of our more recent posts shared how our partners in Haiti sent over 100 N95 masks to us. These masks have proved so important in our local response to COVID-19. It's our turn to respond to their COVID--19 needs. Our interpreter and med student, Simea Wilkens is coordinating a distribution of masks, soap and bleach to vulnerable families in his neighborhood. He can buy everything in Haiti but needs us to send the money to purchase them. We are trying to raise $750 to meet this need. In addition, I have a shipment ready to go via DHL to our clinic with pregnancy tests, malaria tests and gloves. It will cost us about $500 to ship. Any and all donations in the next week to: www.healthministriesforhaiti.com/donate will go specifically to these efforts. We are ALL in this together! Thank you in advance. Stay safe, stay home.
