You work the tissue. You release the fascia. You address the structure. And your client leaves feeling good — for about 48 hours. Then it comes back.

Tension isn't only structural. The nervous system has a say in how much the body can absorb from your work. When it's stuck in a protective pattern, the tissue keeps re-guarding — no matter how skilled your hands are.

The body already has a mechanism for releasing those patterns: an innate, involuntary tremor process. Practitioners who integrate it often find releases go deeper and clients stop fighting the work.

That's what the new 4-day training covers — the therapeutic application of neurogenic tremoring, for practitioners who already work with the body.

A few questions keep coming up about the September training, so here they are in one place.

What it is: a 4-day training in the therapeutic application of neurogenic tremoring, designed for manual therapists and professionals who already work with touch.

Who it's for: physiotherapists and physio students, manual therapists, craniosacral therapists, osteopaths, doctors, Trager® practitioners, massage therapists, and other body-oriented professionals.

Do you need prior TRE experience? No — a basic manual skill set and practical experience in a body-oriented profession is what matters.

How is it different from TRE certification? The focus here is integrating neurogenic tremoring into manual therapy, on the treatment table.

Before you decide whether a training is right for you, it helps to know who's teaching it.

Alex Greene has spent more than two decades in body-oriented therapies and teaches across Europe, North America, Asia, and Africa. Ágnes Katona brings a healthcare background from Semmelweis University and an internationally recognised practice in manual therapy and TRE.

This September they're teaching together — a 4-day training in the therapeutic application of neurogenic tremoring, for practitioners who already work with the body.

Grief moves at the pace of the body, not the calendar.

The heavy chest. The tight throat. The exhaustion sleep won't fix. Loss doesn't just live in your thoughts — it's carried in tissue, posture, breath. That's why you can be "doing fine" on paper and still get ambushed by a song in the grocery store.

You're not behind, and you're not doing it wrong. Grief isn't a problem to solve — it's an experience that needs room to move. Somatic work simply gives it a place to land.

David's background wasn't just trauma work — it was conflict mediation. He has stories from the Middle East of tremoring with opposing parties.

That's the capacity of this work: to dissolve the layers that sit between people and bring them into connection at a nervous system level. Not debating positions — just taking the charge out of it.

You can tell the story a hundred times and still feel it grip your body.

That's not a failure of insight. An experience doesn't live in you as words — it lives across five channels at once: Sensation, Imagery, Behavior, Affect, and Meaning. In Somatic Experiencing, we call it SIBAM.

When something overwhelming gets stuck, those channels split apart. Talking reaches one or two. The body holds the rest.

Swipe to see how the channels reconnect — and why we work with the body, not just the narrative.

My first tremoring discharge happened by accident.

I was getting rolfing-style bodywork at a zen temple, after hours during a retreat, and my body just started shaking. The practitioner held it simply as "a release" — no name needed. It was powerful. Years later, once I'd trained in that method myself, I'd see the same thing show up in clients, sometimes small, sometimes big.

Then I found TRE. What hooked me was the neurobiology, the trauma lens, the science behind what I'd only ever stumbled into. But most of all: instead of waiting for the stars to align, there was a methodology to reliably invite that response. Total game changer.

Watch an animal after a close call: it shakes hard, then goes right back to grazing.

You were born with that same reflex. It's called a neurogenic tremor — the body's own way of letting survival stress move through and out. Most of us were simply taught to shut it off.

The good news: it can be invited back. Not forced — invited. That's the heart of TRE and the somatic work we do.

Zen meditation gave me breathwork. TRE gave me something I didn't expect.

We'd throw TRE into the first night of our intro workshops — a room full of strangers, half of them straight off a plane. After the tremoring, you'd poll the room and hear the same thing: "I'm not in the airplane anymore. I'm just here." Suddenly they're present, and part of a group they don't even know yet.

We looked at each other like, what a hack. That's what we spend a week-long meditation retreat chasing.

You can forget the event entirely and still carry the response in your muscles, your breath, your startle. That’s not you being dramatic — it’s trauma stored as a state, not a story. And the good news buried in that: a body that learned danger can also learn safety. Comment BODY if you want to know how that work actually goes.
