The Art of Medicine- Naturally

The Art of Medicine- Naturally Our paradigm shifts the emphasis from disease-driven medicine to one of an optimal-health medical practice for adults.

Permanently closed.

I have a vision of delivering health care in a nurturing environment, whether that be my office, my home, or your home. A place where "health care" includes hugs, laughter, tears, and a sense of trust - these are often way more valuable and effective than any prescription I could offer. A setting where communication is not limited to office hours and getting past a receptionist or nurse to answer

your questions. Our practice is based on wellness, and our goal is to teach you how to heal your body through nutrition, chiropractic, movement, and self-care. Better yet, we can help you stay healthy and prevent the chronic illnesses that are plaguing so many these days. We strive to correct the cause of illness, rather than masking the symptoms. We serve all ages and stages, including infants and pregnant women. Mid-wife referrals are available, and I will participate in your prenatal care. Starting January 9th, I am proud to announce that Suboxone services will be added to the menu of services. Medical and counseling services addressing opioid addiction will be available. Be prepared to be welcomed in our office as a person, and not a disease. Be sure to check out the full array of services including hormone evaluation and bio-identical hormone replacement, medical care review, and pediatric care packages! Payment is expected at the time of service, and I will provide receipts that you may submit to your insurance company/flex plan/health savings account. Credit or debit card payment is accepted through PayPal, Square, and Venmo. I look forward to serving you and your family in health and wellness!

Of course this doesn't address the fact that the typical American diet feeds mental health disorders as well as chronic illness, but it is a start.

"Across four different measures of depressive symptoms, the average response rate to escitalopram at the end of the trial was 33%. In comparison, psilocybin worked more rapidly, decreasing depression scores as early as one day after the first dosing session. At the end of the trial, the average response rate to psilocybin therapy was more than 70%."

Psychiatry has long failed to explain depression. Our research into psilocybin suggests a new approach, says researcher Robin Carhart-Harris

If you hear that I will be closing my practice that is not true. The office is open. Due to changes in staffing, I am not accepting new patients currently, but hopeful that this will change sometime this summer.

Day #30: Time for a rant. A good old fashioned "back when I was in residency and moonlighting at urgent scares" rant. I've been running temps up, to 102, chills, nightsweats and redness around my catheter site for past 4 days. Yesterday was directed to go to the ER by on call doc who was not comfortable calling in antibiotics (or even talking to me, for that matter). Was pretty bad this morning and left work to go to urgent scare. Nurse takes my vitals, my symptoms, and gives report. PA walks in and says "Sorry, this is too complicated to treat here", "you need a fever work up". WHATTTT?????? "This needs to be addressed at the ER." I explained to her that I have to pay mostly out of pocket, and if I left I would simply go home and crawl into bed until my scheduled appt tomorrow afternoon. I also explained that I was a doctor, so I understood the risks associated with that. Well, apparently my alternative was not acceptable, so they decided to do a CBC and chest xray, to see what we were dealing with. Lo and behold, even though the fluid is back in my lung, my white count a bit elevated, it was not the dire picture of sepsis they were envisioning. So I got a prescription for antibiotics and went on my merry way. Definitely not an ER worthy event.
YOU PEOPLE ARE DOCTORS... I HAVE AN INFECTION... I NEED ANTIBIOTICS...NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.
I've treated gunshot wounds, head injuries. stabilized severe lacerations and broken bones, stabilized heart attack and stroke pts when I was a RESIDENT in the rural urgent cares of Wisco. Are we really to the point of dumbing down of our education that there is such a carefully carved "scope of practice"?
