Of the seven major industry predictions, several key findings stand out:

📈The denial surge everyone predicted isn't happening. 62% report stable or decreased denial rates. The payer pressures are real, but it's the work of appealing back-end denials caused by upstream eligibility verification and documentation gaps that seem to be burdening practices most.

📋Value-based care arrangements are increasing, where 57% of respondents earn more than 10% of revenue from these contracts. Top barriers to measurement-based care include patient compliance and engagement and clinical priority, not lack of tooling or technology support.

👨‍💻Fragmentation and lack of interoperability is costly as 70% of respondents run four or more separate software systems on a typical day.

💟The "attrition crisis" narrative doesn't hold. 94% of responding clinicians intend to stay in the field a year from now. The roles reported as a challenge to fill are experienced, licensed clinicians and supervisors, not a mass exodus of people leaving the field.

The industry made several major predictions for behavioral health in 2026. We asked operators and clinicians running outpatient practices what’s […]

If you run a behavioral health practice, you know the routine: every note your supervised clinicians write routes to a supervisor for a cosignature, whether your practice's policies requires it or not.

As of today, Signature Policies are generally available in ProsperityEHR. Cosignature requirements follow the documentation, not the person. Your team decides what actually needs review — by payer, type of documentation, license, or location — and you can change the rules yourself in minutes when a contract or regulation changes.

We wrote up how it works and why supervision should follow the documentation on our blog: https://www.prosperityehr.com/resources/learn/blog/signatures-and-supervision/

Ask almost any behavioral health provider about documentation, and you'll hear a familiar story: the session is the rewarding part. It's the notes afterward that tend to pile up.

Features like copy-and-paste can save valuable time, but when documentation looks the same week after week, it can appear "cloned" to a payer. Cloned documentation doesn't support medical necessity, increasing the risk of denied claims, payment recoupments, and audit findings.

We built ProsperityEHR's Copy Forward feature with that balance in mind. Our platform shares the stable information that providers shouldn't have to re-enter at every visit, while intentionally leaving encounter-specific elements like the presenting problem, chief complaint, and clinical assessments for the current session. Any copied content is clearly highlighted, which encouraging providers to review, update, and personalize the content before signing.

We come at this as people who understand the clinical work from the inside. The goal isn't a faster note. It's a note that reflects the session and holds up for the client, the provider, and the practice.

Behavioral health work asks a lot of the people who do it. A real break is well earned. Whether this weekend finds you at a backyard cookout🌭, in a front-row seat for the fireworks 🎆, or simply enjoying a rare day with no clinic appointments on the calendar 🗓, we hope it's a restful one.

Happy Independence Day from all of us at ProsperityEHR.

In behavioral health, we know that collective trauma ripples through communities in ways that aren't always visible.

It's been a heavy few weeks. To the behavioral health providers in our community: you're the ones who will help others process what's happening —the grief, the fear, the collective weight of loss. But who's holding space for you?

Don't forget that you deserve the same compassion and care you give to others every single day.

Take what you need. 🪷
