Hey Instagram 😊 it’s been a while! I’m back in Louisiana and it’s been a lot of rest and recovery since I got back.
This last trip out in the van was mercury retrograde on steroids. Much less whimsical feeling than I usually feel travelling- with the heat and no ac, dealing with aggressive police in the woods , hiking for days at a time, and getting sick - it seemed like it was a test of physical and emotional resilience from start to finish. But it was absolutely a review of a lot of things in the recent past, showing me aspects of myself I have to let go of - a medicine that was needed 🖤🐛🦋
I love sharing my travels and nice moments usually, but over the past few months have been super called to stay inward and process a lot. Coming out of being in the woods for weeks at a time phones are a lot to re-adjust to as well, especially in current times. I often feel overly anxious about what I’m contributing to the collective and hence find myself totally retreating from it .
But here’s some clips and snippets of some animals and bugs and sunsets :) and of course some tattoos I got to do! A lot of cover ups I got to finish from last year and some healed pics on dear friends I got to see. Some of my favorite parts were when I was in Maine- it’s always so refreshing to be amongst friends who are just stoked to get tattooed and have a good time. It makes tattooing feel a lot more like play. It’s the most beautiful landscape up there too, a very special place.
Despite all the struggles, really grateful to have gotten to travel again. It really is a blessing even on a shoestring and being in the elements. Sometimes I feel like doing the hard things makes the little things so much more beautiful. Life really is just climbing from one mountain peak to the next. It’s a privilege to experience it all.
This trip ended up feeling like getting a lot of closure on all this transition over the past year and a half. (And I’m so proud of the Toyota btw- she made it another 4k miles! We are at 225k now🎉) I’m settling into a lot of commitments here in New Orleans area so I’ll be planted and tattooing for the foreseeable future 😊
Sending love 📡📡💚💚
