Dr. Gyzel Aval DC, is known for her work in restoring the normal curves of the spine, allowing for a fully functioning nervous system and alleviation of chronic headaches, low back pain, and neck pain. She specializes in treating disc hernation and muscle injury as well by being certified as a personal trainer and working with many athletes by performing fitness and functional assessments and reha

bilitation training. She has worked with infants as old as a few hours as well as geriatric patients up to 100 years old. She has helped thousands of people around the world by traveling to couple different third world countries as a mission trip and serve. Her goal is to serve others and her passion is to treat and educate. Dr. Gyzel is board certified and graduated from CCCLA, in Los Angeles, California and is a member of American and International Chiropractor Association. Her mission is to provide her patients with the highest quality health care through spinal correction, chiropractic adjustments, and wellness coaching. By teaching her patients how to eat well, move well, and think well; the goal is changing the quality of our patient’s lives. Everyone knows chiropractic care is excellent at treating symptoms of headaches, migraines, low back pain, and neck pain; although getting our patients out of pain is first priority, it is never the ultimate goal and rarely the ultimate result. Dr. Gyzel stresses the importance of a wellness based lifestyle to improve quality of life and redefine health as energy to create wealth, vitality, a positive mental attitude, an attractive physique, and lastly less pain. The best measure of a great doctor is the level to which he/she educates her patients on their health. Thats why at our office, we make sure that along with highly specialized evidence-based treatment, we provide our patients with health workshops on a regular basis. It is through these workshops that we succeed at "awakening the doctor within" each one of our patients.

If you’ve tried multiple treatments and nothing sticks, it’s not because you’ve failed.

It’s because no one has shown you how to understand your body properly.

Real change happens when you stop chasing relief and start building awareness.

Correct movements.
Correct daily habits.
Correct posture.

That’s what creates long-term results.

Most people are doing everything they can to feel better.

They’re going to appointments.

Trying different treatments.

Looking for answers.

But the problem isn’t effort.
It’s direction.

If you don’t understand how your body works, every solution becomes temporary.

You might feel better for a few days or weeks.
But the pain comes back.

Not because your body is broken.
But because the underlying patterns haven’t changed.

Posture.
Movement.
Daily habits.

That’s where real change happens.

When you understand those, you stop depending on quick fixes.

You start building long-term control over your health.

Most people aren’t stuck because they’re not trying.

They’re stuck because they’re solving the wrong problem.

Pain is not the root issue.

It’s the result of how your body is being used every day.

Your posture.
Your movement.
Your habits.

If those stay the same, the pain will always return.

When you understand your body, you stop chasing short-term fixes and start creating long-term results.

Pain is rarely the starting point.

It’s the result of patterns your body has been repeating for a long time.

It’s the over-using and under-using of your body.

Where is the middle point so you don’t abuse your body and appreciate it instead?

Most people try to fix the symptoms without ever understanding the cause.

That’s why the relief doesn’t last.

When you build awareness, everything shifts.

Your posture improves.
Your movement changes.
Your confidence comes back.

This is what Be Your Own Doctor is built on.

URGENT - must leave the PG County MD Shelter by 1/30 due to overcrowding 🚨 Deadline is Friday 1/30 at 6 PM 💘 Will you be my Valentine? 💘 We have 23 wonderful dogs hoping to find their person — or at least a safe place to land — before time runs out. Their deadline is Friday 1/30 at 6 PM. While that date is firm, a request for early action is coming from us as volunteers. With an upcoming snowstorm, last-minute travel, transport, and coordination may be much harder than usual. Applying early gives these dogs the best possible chance to get out safely. The shelter will be closed Sunday and Monday as normal, leaving a very small window to make things happen. 🎨 Full transparency: some photos may have AI-assisted background replacements so the dogs are easier to see. Original photos are always available on the shelter website and volunteer posts. ⸻ ℹ️ Please read • All dogs must leave by Thursday 1/29 at 6 PM • Please arrive at least one hour before closing to meet a dog • Adoption is in person at the shelter • Terriers (BSL still applies) – Must be adopted or fostered outside Prince George’s County – Fostering must be through a rescue – Out-of-county adopters must bring two documents showing the same address • Non-terriers (6 dogs on this list) – May be fostered directly through the shelter or via rescue • Pledges are always appreciated and go only to verified 501(c)(3) rescues. Please use the pledge form, we vant keep track in comments. 🙌 Good news for the future PG County has passed a pilot program that is expected to allow terrier-type dogs to be adopted and fostered within the county starting around early February 2026. That change is coming — but it does not help the dogs on this list today. ⸻ 💰 Pledge Form https://forms.gle/xFrUPwDzxNJKo77C8 📊 Pledge Tracker https://docs.google.com/.../1NhmOQ9lnWH66q2J2EjJD.../edit... 📋 Full Urgent List (all dogs) https://www.facebook.com/share/1CHufXTs6r/? 👉 Rescue group information https://www.facebook.com/share/p/15av9homat/ ⸻ 📍 Prince George’s County Animal Services 3750 Brown Station Rd, Upper Marlboro, MD 📞 301-780-7200 🕐 Hours Tues–Fri: 11 AM–7 PM Saturday: 10 AM–4 PM 🚫 Closed Sunday & Monday ⸻ 📝 Important reminder This is a public page with many caring advocates. Some have firsthand experience with these dogs, while others help by sharing to increase visibility. Rescues also operate differently depending on their capacity and resources. We always encourage due diligence — ask questions about the dog, the rescue process, and what fostering or adopting truly involves. Our goal is for dogs to move into safe, stable, lifelong homes. 💗 Every share. Every pledge. Every foster. Every adoption. ✨ It all matters. It all saves lives. 🐾 Thank you for showing up for them.
