Supporting healthier beginnings for Maine families.

PQC4ME, a program of the Maine Medical Association Center for Quality Improvement, brings together partners across Maine to improve outcomes for birthing people, babies, and families.

Recently, members of the PQC4ME and MMA-CQI team attended the National Network of Perinatal Quality Collaboratives Annual Conference in New Orleans, joining colleagues from across the country to share ideas and explore strategies to advance equitable and respectful perinatal care.

Working together to shape the future of medicine.

The MMA team joined members of the medical community from across the country at the American Medical Association Annual Meeting in Chicago this week. Hundreds of physician and medical student delegates came together to address some of the most pressing issues facing health care today, including physician well-being, prior authorization reform, scope of practice, and access to care.

We appreciated the opportunity to connect with colleagues from the NH Medical Society and Vermont Medical Society during the New England Delegation Dinner, strengthening regional relationships and discussing shared challenges and opportunities across Northern New England.

We are grateful for the leadership of MMA Board Member Maroulla Gleaton, MD, who serves as Vice Chair of the New England Delegation, helping represent the interests of physicians and patients throughout our region.

We also extend our appreciation to MMA representatives and delegates who participated in the meeting, including Richard Evans, MD; James Jarvis, MD, FAAFP; R Scott Hanson, MD, MPH, FACP; Varun Kota; Kenji Saito, MD, JD; and Jacob Rha, MD, MBA.

Help shape physician advocacy in Maine.

There's still time to share your perspective. The Maine Medical Association and Maine Osteopathic Association invite members to complete a brief survey to provide feedback on advocacy efforts during the Second Session of Maine's 132nd Legislature.

In this edition of MMA’s Gubernatorial Candidate Healthcare Platform Series, Owen for Maine, Republican candidate for Governor of Maine, discusses the challenges and opportunities facing Maine’s health care system.

Improving access to care for Maine families.

The Maine Medical Association Center for Quality Improvement was recently featured by WABI TV5 for its partnership supporting the Maine Mobile Health Program, helping bring free maternal and child health services directly to rural communities across the state.

As Jamie Paul, MMA-CQI Project Manager, shared: “If you can’t get to us, we want to be sure we can get to you.”

The mobile health unit will make 19 community stops across Maine this year and is expected to connect with more than 1,000 clients, supporting pregnant women, new mothers, and children closer to home.
