I thought I was “handling it.”
Limiting what I watch.
Staying grounded.
Taking care of myself the way I tell my clients to.
And yet… my body told a different story.
I felt it clearly at the chiropractor this week.
He was working on a spot in my neck that was inflamed and His words were simple: your muscles are gripping so tightly, your body is creating this response.
That stopped me.
So let’s be honest for a second…
How many of us are walking around saying “I’m fine” while our bodies are bracing for impact?
Because here’s the part we don’t say out loud—
it’s not just your own stress.
You can mute it.
You can scroll past it.
You can tell yourself you’re not taking it in…
…but your body is still keeping score.
Tight shoulders.
Clenched jaw.
A nervous system that never fully exhales.
The constant awareness of what’s happening… the violence, the destruction, the grief. Even when I’m not actively consuming it, it’s there. Living somewhere in me.
And my body is holding it.
This is your reminder that you can be “doing all the right things” and still be impacted.
Your nervous system doesn’t just process what you see… it processes what you feel, what you sense, what you care about.
So I’m softening into this instead of judging it.
Creating more space to release, not just trying to regulate or manage it.
And I’m curious…
are you feeling this in your body too?
