Graduation season and outdoor get togethers are upon us! And with that, depending on the party, can come with less-than-supportive-food-territory.

Here are a few tips to help make better choices in these situations:
-Don't go starving. A small protein heavy snack before hand can help a lot!
-On that note, so does hydration! Drink a tall glass of H2O before you head out the door.

First pass strategy, before grabbing food:
-Walk the table once.
-Decide what’s actually worth eating.
-Skip β€œdefault” filler foods you don’t even enjoy.

A good rule:
PRIORITIZE
-protein
-fruit/vegetables
-foods unique to the event

MINIMIZE
-chips
-random sweets
-constant grazing (proximity can be everything! Simple tip? Hang out AWAY from the food table and sit down to eat.)

Dessert approach
You might not need to avoid dessert entirely.

Better strategy:
-pick one dessert you actually want OR bring your own (A tray to share, or single serving. This way YOU have control of that piece!)
-enjoy it slowly
-skip random low-quality sweets
