🎬 Preparing for our Netflix documentary on the HIV epidemic that no one realized was still happening in 2026.
The truth is... HIV never went away.
Every day, dedicated outreach workers, case managers, healthcare providers, advocates, and people living with HIV continue the work. We provide testing, education, prevention, treatment, and hope.
We’ve made incredible progress, but stigma still exists. New diagnoses still happen. Too many people still don’t know their status, and too many communities continue to face barriers to care.
The HIV epidemic isn’t over, it just doesn’t make the headlines like it used to.
Until everyone has access to prevention, treatment, and compassionate care, the work continues.
❀️ Know your status. End the stigma. Support your community.

❀️ Honoring the Legacy of Juanita

On July 13, we gathered as the CART family, alongside Juanita Carter-Fuller loved ones, to dedicate a memorial bench in her honor a lasting tribute to a remarkable colleague, advocate, and friend whose compassion touched countless lives.

Throughout her years at CART, Juanita dedicated herself to caring for others with kindness, strength, and unwavering compassion. She was more than a member of our team; she was a trusted source of support for patients, a mentor to colleagues, and a champion for those living with or affected by HIV.

During the ceremony, our Medical Director, Dr. Joseph McGowan, shared heartfelt remarks in Juanita's memory, reflecting on her extraordinary dedication, the lives she touched, and the lasting impact she leaves on our patients, colleagues, and community.

This memorial bench serves as a place of reflection, comfort, and remembrance for all who knew her and for future generations who will continue the work she was so passionate about.
Juanita's legacy lives on in the hearts of our patients, our colleagues, and our community. She will never be forgotten.

❀️ Forever in our hearts.
