Compensation terms: your contract spells out your donor compensation amount, your payment schedule, and how travel and expenses get reimbursed.
Health coverage: look for complication insurance, who covers medical bills, and what you're paid if your cycle is canceled.
Privacy: your contract sets your donation as anonymous, semi-open, or known, and it covers sharing medical updates later and any future contact with the family.

PMOS is the new name for PCOS. It's the same condition with just and updated name! PMOS was adopted in May 2026 through a global consensus process published in The Lancet, and backed by ASRM and the Endocrine Society. September is PMOS Awareness Month, and this is the first one under the new name.

What PMOS means for fertility: ovulation can be irregular or stop some months, and ovaries may respond differently to fertility medication. Pregnancy is still very possible with the right monitoring and a reproductive endocrinologist involved.

What it means for egg donation is case by case. Ovarian stimulation medication can cause ovaries with PMOS to over-respond, which raises the risk of OHSS, so clinics screen carefully. Approval is more likely when the condition is mild or well managed and hormone levels are normal. The final call belongs to the clinic's medical director after individual screening.
