Becoming parents is beautiful β€” but it can also change your relationship in ways no one talks about. 🀍

The mental load. Feeling touched out. Resentment when one person carries more. Intimacy that keeps slipping down the to-do list. Different needs, different capacity, different seasons.

None of it means something is wrong with you. It means you're human, and parenting is hard on a relationship.

Remember: you're not just partners, you're a team. Communicate openly. Make time for connection, even in small moments. Show appreciation. Be patient with yourself and each other. And it's okay to ask for help. 🌿

If you and your partner are navigating this season, Nourished Psychology is here to support you.

Postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety often show up together. 🀍

PPD can look like persistent sadness, low energy, or difficulty bonding with your baby. PPA can look like racing thoughts, feeling on edge, or intrusive worries about your baby's safety. Overlap often includes feeling overwhelmed, constant worry, trouble sleeping, and physical tension.

Different experiences, both common, both treatable.

It's okay to ask for help. Reaching out is strength, not weakness. 🌿

Nourished Psychology is here if you need support.

Baby blues and postpartum depression aren't the same thing β€” and knowing the difference matters. 🀍

Baby blues are common, start within days of birth, and usually ease within two weeks with rest and support. Postpartum depression can start anytime in the first year, lasts longer, and doesn't improve on its own β€” it needs support and treatment.

It's not about having a bad day. It's about how long it lasts, how intense it feels, and how much it affects your ability to function.

If it's not lifting, you're not weak β€” you deserve support. Reaching out is a sign of strength. 🌿

Postpartum rage is one of the least talked about parts of new motherhood. πŸ˜”πŸ€

Sudden waves of anger that feel bigger than the moment. Snapping, then guilt. Feeling constantly on edge.

Here's what we want you to know: this doesn't mean you're a bad mum. It means your nervous system is under enormous stress β€” sleep deprivation, hormonal shifts, overwhelm, and little to no support.

It's real, it's common, and it can get better. Acknowledge what you're feeling. Ask for help. Speak to a professional. You deserve support, not just survival.

You are doing your best in an incredibly hard season. You are not alone. 🌿

If this resonates, we're here β€” reach out to Nourished Psychology.

Something we hear a lot from new mums: "I didn't expect anxiety to feel like this."

Not just worry β€” but a racing heart. A tight chest that makes it hard to take a full breath. Shaky hands. A stomach in knots. Thoughts that spin even when your body is running on empty.

If this sounds familiar, please know: this isn't a sign that something is wrong with you. It's your nervous system doing exactly what it's designed to do β€” staying alert to protect you and your baby. The trouble is, it doesn't always know when to switch off.

The good news is, with the right support, it can learn to settle again.

If you're a new mum in Brisbane and this resonates, we'd love to help. Send us a message or book a chat with our team at Nourished Psychology. You don't have to figure this out alone. 🀍
