Eggstraordinary Embryo Embryologist helping patients decode their IVF results — with science & heart 🧫💗

Making babies keeps me on my toes. Literally.

People imagine embryologists quietly behind a microscope all day. The reality? We move. Incubators, workstations, procedures... those steps add up fast during a 10-hour day in the IVF lab.

So what I wear on my feet matters. I’ve been putting my clogs through the ultimate embryologist test, and I genuinely love how my feet feel at the end of a long day. Because when my lab shift ends, my second shift begins: Mom Mode. Your feet work hard too. Give them some love and check out .

Apparently even the universe thinks my vacation has gone on long enough. 😂☁️🧫

Fine. I get the message. Back to making babies. 🫡

When they’ve searched and searched and still can’t find s***m…

Send in the Lab Director. 😎🔬

Some days in the IVF lab are basically a microscopic search-and-rescue mission.

And yes, finding ONE good s***m can absolutely make your day. 🕵️‍♀️

“I retrieved 15 eggs… but only 9 were mature. Is that normal?” 🥚

Egg maturity is one of the most misunderstood numbers in an IVF cycle.

Around 70–80% of retrieved eggs being mature (MII) is a reasonable benchmark, but the percentage alone never tells me the whole story.

Too many immature eggs? I want to look at follicle sizes, synchronization, trigger and retrieval timing.

100% mature? Great… but I still want context. Maturity and egg competence are not exactly the same thing.

And if an egg is MI at retrieval? Sometimes, with a little more time, it may complete maturation. In selected cases, rescue IVM + delayed ICSI may give that egg another chance.

The most important takeaway:

Your maturity rate is a clue, not a diagnosis.

Your eggs don’t exist in isolation. The whole cycle tells the story.

If you’re trying to understand your IVF results, whether you need a short consultation or a full cycle review, I can help you put the pieces together:

You asked: “WHY aren’t you wearing gloves?!” 🧤😱

Because when we’re handling your precious eggs & embryos… we really don’t want to lose our grip. 😅🧫🥚

Sometimes no gloves = better control. And yes, our hands are VERY clean. 😂🧼

I LOVE seeing more women — especially public figures — talk openly about freezing their eggs. 👏🥚

But egg freezing isn’t just “put some eggs away for later.” Age matters. Numbers matter. And sometimes getting enough eggs means multiple retrievals…and a very big bill.

So while we’re normalizing fertility preservation, can we also normalize making it accessible?

Check your benefits. Ask your employer. And let’s keep this conversation going. ❤️

🧊 FRESH vs FROZEN 🔥 Who takes the throne? 👑

Frozen can be better for some patients. Fresh for others. And first-transfer success doesn’t tell the whole story — cumulative live birth matters.

So who wins?

Neither. Context is king. 👑🧬
