Meet the Team!
👤 Who You Are: Samantha
📍 Role: Social Services Director
🔍 A look inside their day: A little bit of everything—and often behind the scenes! I meet new admissions, help plan and coordinate discharges, and assist residents and families with setting up and navigating home care services. I collaborate with the IDT and on-site psych services, participate in care conferences, spend one-on-one time with residents and families, and help support important conversations, including hospice. I also help find the positives and celebrate the little steps forward, reminding residents and families of progress and helping keep the focus on hope and positivity. Most importantly, I remind everyone that every person deserves a chance, every story matters, and every resident deserves to be heard, supported, and treated with dignity.
My goal is simple: to support, advocate, connect, and walk alongside residents and families through every step of their journey.
⭐ How long with us: I have been with Monarch for 2 years, at Laurels Peak for 1 year, although have been in this career for 14 years.
💡 Favorite part of the job: The people and their stories. Everyone has a story, and I’m grateful that I get to walk alongside each resident, listen, advocate, and help support them through their journey. I also have the privilege of supporting their families—helping navigate the tough moments, answering questions, and being there when they need someone in their corner. It’s not always easy, but it’s incredibly rewarding. I’m thankful to do what I do.
🍦Favorite ice-cream: Ice cream confetti cake
❤️ Outside of work: Apparently, I live with 7 roommates… but my hubby and I tag team it! 1 hubby, 3 girls, and 3 cats. My days are basically a never-ending rotation of kids’ sporting events, boat days, sunflower fields, and trying to keep everyone alive and fed.
When I’m not cheering from the sidelines or enjoying lake life, you’ll find me reading, crafting, wandering through sunflower fields, and exploring new places. It’s chaotic. It’s loud. It’s occasionally covered in cat hair. But honestly… I wouldn’t trade my crazy crew for anything!
