Sometimes you just have to keep bugging your beautiful friend until she finally says yes. ❤️
For years, I have been nudging, encouraging, begging, and probably mildly annoying my bestie, Claire, to come to Feathered Pipe Ranch.
There was just one tiny problem…
She had never done yoga. 😂
But apparently, after enough years of my gentle (okay, persistent) persuasion, she finally decided to give it a try.
And then something wonderful happened.
Claire showed up.
She jumped into the experience with an open heart, an open mind, and absolutely no idea what she was getting herself into. And before long, I watched something I knew would happen—but still loved witnessing.
Everyone fell in love with her.
The group. The teachers. The people she met. It was impossible not to.
Because that's Claire.
She has this incredible ability to make people feel comfortable simply by being herself. She brings humor, warmth, kindness, curiosity, and a genuine interest in people wherever she goes. She doesn't need to be the center of attention to make an impact. She just shows up—and somehow, the whole room feels a little better because she's there.
But what made her time at Feathered Pipe especially meaningful to me was something much more personal.
This year has brought me through some deep grief with the loss of my dad. There are moments when I am carrying a lot, and I don't necessarily have the words for it.
And having Claire there was a gift I didn't fully realize I needed.
She was there in friendship.
She was there in kindness.
She was there in support.
She was there in the hard moments.
She was there in the laughter.
She was simply there.
Sometimes healing doesn't come in the form of a profound meditation or some great spiritual revelation.
Sometimes it looks like your best friend sitting beside you.
Sometimes it's laughing until your stomach hurts.
Sometimes it's a hug.
Sometimes it's someone knowing when you need company—and when you just need them to be quiet and sit with you.
And sometimes it's having someone you love step into a world that means so much to you and watching them become part of it.
Claire, thank you for finally saying yes.
Thank you for trusting me enough to come to a place where you had never done yoga, knowing absolutely no one, and then proceeding to charm the pants off everyone there. 😂
Thank you for bringing your beautiful energy to Feathered Pipe Ranch.
But most of all, thank you for being there for me.
I will always be grateful that you shared this experience with me during a season of my life when I needed your friendship more than you probably realized.
Friendship. Kindness. Support. Grief. Gratitude.
Sometimes the people we love are part of our healing simply by showing up.
And Claire, you showed up. ❤️
I love you, my friend. And yes… I’m already working on where I’m going to bug you into going with me next. 😉
