Federals are donating about $177 million in order to help people with special needs with employment by pushing them away from subminimum wage. Over the next five years, 14 state agencies for rehabilitation will receive the donation for companies with disabled employees who are being paid below minimum wage.

This will give people with special needs better job opportunities. This includes essential workers, transportation, and arts. One of the states that is receiving the funds is Texas.

Schools are in need of special ed teachers. There's a shortage on all types of teachers, including special ed. Some people believe it is because special ed has been classified as secondary for years.

Morando Rhim, an advocator for disabled students, says "This has been a problem for years that we didn't pay attention to. I don't think special education is functional right now, either in charter schools or district schools. We don't approach it as a place where we want to include all kids."

In states like Minnesota, there are programs to recruit more special education teachers. What are your thoughts on the special education teacher shortage?
