Meet Dave Lopez.

A New York City tattooer with decades in the game, Dave has been honing his craft across all styles since the early 90s. He’s a co-owner of Ron & Dave’s Tattoo on Staten Island, open since 1998 and a real piece of NYC tattoo history. You might even recognize the shop from The King of Staten Island.

But Shisa Tattoo Studio is different.

This studio is Dave’s passion project, a space dedicated to the Japanese-style tattooing he’s spent years studying, living, and refining. From tattooing in Tokyo and Okinawa to building large-scale work rooted in tradition, flow, and storytelling, this is the work closest to his heart.
