Every summer somebody hands you a neon packet and calls it hydration. Sugar and food coloring, out here doing the absolute most and cooling down nobody.

Two teaspoons, covered, fifteen minutes. Let it chill, then cut it with coconut water and load the pitcher with cucumber, lemon and a little honey.

Now you’ve got something cold, refreshing, actually enjoyable to drink, and the coconut water brings some electrolytes to the situation without making my drink taste like Electric Blue Glacier Blast or whatever we’re calling it this year.

And because somebody is going to ask: this is not me telling you herbal tea replaces water or a proper electrolyte drink when you actually need one. This is me saying hydration does not have to be boring.
The pouch was never gonna do that.

Ginger is one of those herbs that earns its cabinet space.

Nauseous? Ginger.
Digestion feeling a little sluggish? Ginger.

Want something warming when the temperature finally decides to drop? Ginger.
But fresh and dried ginger are not exactly the same cup.

Fresh ginger is brighter, juicier, and a little more citrusy. Dried ginger is warmer, sharper, and more concentrated. I reach for them differently depending on what I’m making and what I want from the cup.
And crystallized ginger? That is the one I keep around when I want ginger without making anything at all.
This is one herb I want in the house between now and January. No notes.

The dream really isn’t complicated.

I want Berry Kissed Bliss to become the whole job instead of the thing I build around one.
Until then, I’m still the one weighing your blends, checking your herbs and making sure what leaves this apothecary is something I’m proud to put my name on.
Because this may not be my only job yet.
But I’ve never treated it like a side one.🌿

Your grandmother kept elderberry in the house before the wellness aisle learned her name.

Elderberry has a long history of use during the colder months, especially when seasonal bugs start making their way through the house.

She is not promising that you’ll never catch anything. She is there to support your immune system while your body does what it already knows how to do.

Because somebody is going to bring the first sniffle home this fall.

How you sweeten your tea changes the entire cup, and most people have never tested this once.

Vanilla softens anything sharp. Honey dust actually dissolves in iced tea, which regular honey flat out refuses to do. Amber rock sweetens slow, so your last sip isn’t your first sip.
