Recovery DBT

Recovery DBT The practice offers support to people experiencing eating disorders, borderline personality disorder, self-harm, and suicidality.

With centers in Marietta & Alpharetta, Recovery DBT is Atlanta’s premier intensive mental health, eating disorder, and OCD treatment center for adults and teenagers. Recovery DBT is an outstanding mental health resource for those in and around Marietta, Georgia, who want to create meaningful improvements in their daily quality of life. Under the leadership of Iain Halstead, LCSW, the team at Recov

ery DBT offers a range of services designed to assist patients as they navigate their way to enhanced mental health. Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a form of psychotherapy, commonly called “talk therapy.” The approach is similar to cognitive behavioral therapy but tailored to help people who tend to experience emotions more intensely than most. Many people turn to Recovery DBT after numerous attempts to find relief from mental health challenges. The practice also offers an intensive outpatient program for those who are ready to dedicate themselves to achieving measurable improvements in how they feel and function each day. The 7-week program has a great track record of success. What works for one person won’t always work for the next, but dialectical behavior therapy is an option that helps many people find lasting relief from serious mental health issues and go on to live active, productive, and fulfilling lives. Residents of Marietta, Georgia, who are ready to try a new approach to mental health and wellness should set up a time to come in and meet the Recovery DBT team. Booking options include a simple phone call or a visit to the online scheduling page.

Flexible Mind Fridays 🧠

What if you could be confident in your perspective… without needing to be certain you're right?

That's the heart of Flexible Mind: staying open to the possibility that you may not have the whole picture. Not abandoning your convictions, but holding them with enough openness to keep learning.

Yesterday we officially launched our Radically Open DBT program at our open house in Alpharetta. RO DBT is designed for overcontrolled coping styles: perfectionism, rigid thinking, emotional inhibition and Flexible Mind is one of its core skills.

Curious whether RO DBT is right for you or someone you love?

This does not mean you are falling behind.

Progress includes these days too.

You are still moving forward, even when it does not feel that way.

focuses on teaching practical skills that can be used in everyday life.

These are designed to help people manage intense emotions, cope during difficult moments, and improve relationships.

They are not things you are expected to already know.

They are taught, practiced, and strengthened over time, with support.

Learning these skills can create more stability and clarity when things feel overwhelming.

is one of the core skills in .

It involves paying attention to what is happening in the present moment, without trying to judge or change it.

This can include noticing your thoughts, your emotions, or what is happening around you, simply as it is.

Over time, mindfulness helps create space between what you feel and how you respond.

This space can make it easier to choose how to move forward, rather than reacting automatically.

It can be easy to feel like your emotions are too much or not appropriate.

But emotions are part of being human. They often reflect something important, even if they feel overwhelming.

The goal is not to get rid of emotions, but to understand them and respond in a way that feels safer and more manageable.

You are allowed to feel what you feel.
