Today I wear my Hope Dealer shirt not because I love how comfortable this shirt is…but because of the purpose of the shirt. Today, the podcast episode I was featured on released. On that episode I talk about how I healed from my IBS diagnosis and my journey with that diagnosis. It wasn’t the medications or the strict dieting that made it better. It was restoring my nervous system. I remember the day I laid in the hospital bed and was told “yea we dont know what’s really going on, it’s probably just IBS and there’s nothing we can do.” I was left with so many unanswered questions and confusion. I then remember VIVIDLY seeing the gastroenterologist and them sitting me down and telling me I just have IBS, you’ll have to stay on these medications to manage the symptoms and restrict what you eat so you dont get flare ups. I wanted answers, I wanted hope that I could heal and overcome this illness. Instead I got no questions answered and my hope ripped from my optimistic soul.
It was not until I listened to a health podcast, he talked about peppermint oil and the gut. I ditched the meds and started leaning into holistic medicine. Turns out, that saved my life. Not because I was physically dying but mentally. But after time I plateaued with healing. There had to be something more.. thats when I found nervous system focused chiropractic care. That is when the real healing happened for me and my life changed forever. No more flare ups, no more strict diets, no more multiple supplements, no more medications.
So I wear this shirt today to mark and show that my mission is to not be the medical professional that stole the hope that I could heal but to be the one to deliver the hope that there is healing and that you can overcome health challenges. When hope is gone, everything is gone. I know that feeling all to well left wondering why am I broken what’s wrong with me why can’t they figure this out. I never want a kid, a mom, a family to feel that hopelessness and left at the disposal of the medical system with a million unanswered questions.
