For years, many of you have trusted me to care for your children. That relationship has meant more to me than you may realize.
But I also know how often mothers put their own health and well-being behind the needs of everyone else. This is why I’m introducing women’s scan days specifically for the mothers of my community. Stress has been taking over our joy, our memories, and our best days. If you want to take it back, now is the time.

💬 Comment “MOLD” to hear the full episode! with Diana Stafford Diana Stafford, MD

“I’m generally a pretty even-keeled, optimistic person.” That’s how one mom described herself — before she developed severe anxiety and depression that felt completely out of character.

Everyone, including her, chalked it up to postpartum. She kept getting her throat checked too, because of a strange, constant feeling like something was stuck in it (a symptom called globus sensation) — and post-nasal drip that wouldn’t go away. Every test came back normal.

The missing piece? No one ever checked for mold.

And it wasn’t just her — her kids were affected too, with symptoms ranging from skin issues to behavior changes to fatigue.

If something has felt “off” since moving into your home — for you or your kids — and nothing you’ve tried explains it, this episode might connect some dots.

💬 Comment “MOLD” to hear the full episode!

Ever wonder why your baby or toddler seems so much more affected by illness, stress, or things like mold than you are?

It’s because their little bodies are in the middle of major developmental windows. The immune system is still maturing through the first three years of life. The gut is maturing in those first couple years too. And at the same time, they’re learning to crawl, walk, and talk.

Doctors actually call this the “neuroimmune interface” — basically, the immune system and the nervous system are so closely linked in early childhood that when one gets overloaded, it can ripple into development.

So if you were exposed to something like mold as an adult with a fully matured immune system, you’d likely fight it off just fine. Your child’s still-developing body doesn’t have that same advantage yet.

Thank you Diana Stafford Diana Stafford, MD for coming on the show!
