MudGirl was fun but kinda easy and it did more than help me have a fun time. It reminded me: Why am I waiting to do all of the races and challenges I’ve dreamed of since 20?

This is race number 1 on my Hormone Hacker Bucket List of races, because I’m not shrinking my life in late perimenopause.

My body is changing. I’m changing. But I’m learning it, respecting it, and still chasing my adventures. My shoulder and knee made it through this one, mobility work pays off and now I’m upping the challenge.

HYROX? A triathlon? Something wild? I’m building a bucket list and I want your ideas. I do have the Rocky Run in November but what’s next….

Tell me: What race or challenge should I tackle next? And if you’re waiting for “someday” to live fully maybe today is your sign to start. Hormones, milestones, medals, finish lines, we’re just getting started and you’re welcome to join me.

3 weeks from my 51st birthday!

Late perimenopause.
Covered in mud.
Training for races.
Laughing with my girls.
Still building. Still moving. Still living.

My body is changing.
My hormones are changing.
But my life is not shrinking.

I’m learning how to become even more powerful in the body I have now.

Perimenopause is here. So am I.

And baby… I’m making this season my bitch. 😌

Now tell me: what are you refusing to give up just because you’re getting older? 👇

This is my girl. I had no idea growing up that there were so many amazing and accomplished black women doing big things in the world, like my girl Sharon. Sharon turned her childhood trauma into a book, a Ted talk and is a professor at Temple University.

She is doing so many big things and I am so grateful to have met her and so many EDUCATED, & BRILLIANT, BLACK WOMAN until I started my femtech company and had to start being in the rooms.

The one thing I am learning that moves the needle is getting from behind your at home desk and computer and getting into rooms.

With real business owners that have the knowledge you seek, they know where to find the capital, funding, and connections.

Like Karla Trotman, another black woman and published author, whose family has owned a manufacturing business for more than 40 years in Philly.

Leave your home office weekly and get into a physical room with real action takers. You will meet people doing big things making 7 figures in businesses you wouldn’t even think of on your own.

That alone has changed my biotech business.

FYI, when you own the company, you get to decide the company culture where DEI is a rule and not the exception .

A huge thank you to Mom your business and Tanya Morris for showing me there are places and spaces for us. 🎤

It’s about balance not perfection or restriction in midlife.

Welcome Dr. Willis

Years ago, Dr. Mercedees L. Willis came into my world first as a client.

She was committed to understanding her health, doing the work, and becoming an active participant in her own wellness journey.

And while continuing to grow personally, she was also building something extraordinary professionally.

Today, I am incredibly proud to celebrate her achievement of earning her Doctor of Nursing Practice and officially welcome her into a new chapter with us.

Dr. Mercedees L. Willis, DNP, AGACNP-BC, RRT-BC, is joining the Hormone Hacker Advisory Board as our Strategic Clinical Advisor.

And this one feels especially meaningful.

Because Dr. Willis brings more than clinical credentials to the table.

She understands what it feels like to be the woman on the other side.

She has experienced our work firsthand as a client.

Now, she brings her advanced clinical training, healthcare experience, and strategic perspective to help guide where we’re going next.

That combination is powerful.

We’re bringing high-level medical oversight to our app so you get the absolute best care.

Because the future of women’s health needs more than people talking about women.

It needs women who understand the experience.
It needs clinical expertise.
It needs innovation.
And it needs people willing to challenge the gaps that have left too many women feeling unheard.

I’m so proud of the woman and clinician you have become, Dr. Willis.

And I am honored to have your voice, expertise, and perspective helping guide this next chapter.

Everybody help me congratulate Dr. Mercedees L. Willis below! 🎓👏🏾🤍

They told Angela, “It’s just aging.”

But when she came to me, she was in so much pain that she cried on our first call.

Her body had changed, the pain was affecting her life so much she had to take a leave of absence, she stopped eating and stopped doing things she loved because she simply didn’t feel like herself anymore.

She knew there had to be another answer.

So she stopped guessing and after a just a couple of weeks working with me, she has started learning how to work with her body.

And now?

She’s eating again. She’s back at work. So much of her pain has subsided, and she’s starting to feel like herself again.

She’s even talking about getting back to playing sports she had given up because of what was happening in her body.

That is the part that gets me.

Because when you don’t feel well for long enough, your world can slowly get smaller without you even realizing it.

You stop doing the things you love. You stop making plans. You start believing maybe this is just what getting older feels like.

Angela is learning that it doesn’t have to be.And she’s doing it naturally.

That is why I do this work.

Have you ever been told, “It’s just part of aging” or “It’s just hormonal changes,” when you knew something wasn’t right?👇🏽

Four weeks from my 51st birthday. Late perimenopause. And I have 13.2 pounds left to lose.

And as you can see, most of the weight I’m still working on is sitting around my midsection.

in late perimenopause is quite common for some women for that to be the last place for your body to release that final bit of weight due to the shifting hormones.

So you might assume my next move would be to eat less and add more cardio.

It’s not.

Based on what I’m tracking, I’m actually increasing my carbs next week. 👀

What’s one thing you’ve noticed about your body in this stage of life that surprised you?

08/21/2026

Her: What are you taking for bone health in perimenopause?

Me: I’m taking: 3 days a week of resistance training, weight bearing exercise, calcium-rich foods, daily sunlight and vitamin D injections every 2 months.

I’m getting outside and getting sunlight. I’m making sure I’m supporting the body I plan to live in for the rest of my life.

And sometimes I adjust the variables based on what my body is telling me, my symptoms, my energy, and what I have going on in this season of life.

Because this is the part of perimenopause I think we need to talk about more.

Estrogen fluctuations and decline can affect bone health, which means this is not the time for us to wait until something is wrong to start paying attention. This is the time to become proactive.

For me, that means building strength now. Supporting my nutrition now. Paying attention to my vitamin D now. Doing the things that give my body a stronger foundation for the decades ahead.

And the bonus?

This same protocol does more than support my bones. Lifting makes me feel powerful, clears my head, supports my energy, and is one of the things that helps me feel mentally grounded when life gets chaotic.

My scans are looking good, I feel good, and at almost 51, I have no plans to become fragile just because I’m getting older.

That’s the bigger point behind almost everything I teach.

I stopped looking for the one thing to take and start looking at the system supporting your whole body.

Because healthy aging isn’t about finding one magic solution.

It’s about understanding which tools your body needs and learning how to use them together.

Which one of these are you already doing?👇

P.s always discuss supplementation with your physician first…

They say women in midlife start isolating.

I don’t know if that’s always true.

Maybe we’re just getting better at protecting our energy.

At this stage of my life, I don’t feel the need to say yes to everything anymore. I don’t need every invitation. Every conversation doesn’t deserve my energy. And honestly, I don’t want to spend my free time doing things that feel like obligations.

But when something lights me up?

A Destiny’s Child cover show played by a string quintet🎻✨

I’m there.

Because getting older, for me, has looked less like shrinking my life and more like becoming intentional about it.

Less noise. More peace.

Less obligation. More joy.
Less selfish people and more time with people I want to emulate.

Less doing things because I think I should. More doing things because they make me feel alive.

Maybe women aren’t isolating.

Maybe we’re finally learning that protecting our energy creates room for the things and people we actually want in our lives.

And honestly?

This version of me doesn’t need more on her calendar. She needs more moments that make her happy to be alive.

If you’re in your perimenopause era and becoming more selective with your energy, you’re not alone. You might just be evolving.
