Unified Premier Women’s Care is proud to welcome Dr. Zin Alonso, available for appointments beginning November 30th
Dr. Zin Alonso is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who has a passion for assisting women navigate through all phases of life. From adolescent health to menopause, Dr. Alonso looks forward to building meaningful long-term relationships with her patients. She is fluent in Burmese and conversational Spanish and welcomes patients from all backgrounds.
Dr. Alonso was born in Yangon, Myanmar, and later moved to New York City as a child. Growing up between two cultures, she became interested in health disparities and global health. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Science degree at Cornell University and minored in Southeast Asian studies. She then completed her medical education at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she obtained a dual degree in Master of Public Health. She won the Global Health Scholars Award and through this opportunity, she was able to participate in a cervical cancer screening and treatment program in Myanmar. Dr. Alonso completed her Ob/Gyn residency training at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Pennsylvania. She is skilled in various types of surgeries including hysteroscopies, laparoscopies, endometrial ablations, vaginal hysterectomies, and Da Vinci robotic surgeries.
Dr. Alonso practices evidence-based medicine and believes in shared decision making with her patients. In a setting where women are discussing confidential matters about their lives, she hopes to provide a comfortable environment where trust is the foundation to the relationship.
In her spare time, Dr. Alonso enjoys Latin dancing, hiking, yoga, and embroidery. She loves to travel the world and explore new eateries and experiences that are off the beaten path. She loves being a mother and spends as much time as she can with her two beautiful kids and husband.
