In 2020, scientists found that shocking the tongue—combined with a carefully designed sound program—can reduce symptoms of the disorder, not just while patients are being treated, but up to 1 year later.

It was a privilege to attend the International Tinnitus Research Initiative in Berlin, Germany, alongside leading tinnitus researchers and clinicians from around the world. I’m truly honored to have been invited as a speaker to share my clinical experience and expertise in tinnitus treatment with leading researchers, clinicians, and experts from around the world.

My goal in attending was simple: to learn. To better understand the latest advances in tinnitus research, emerging technologies, and innovative approaches to treatment and relief — and to bring that knowledge home to the patients I care for in Atlanta, Georgia.

Tinnitus can have a profound impact on quality of life, and I believe staying at the forefront of research is essential to providing thoughtful, evidence-informed care.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from some of the brightest minds in the field and excited to bring new insights, ideas, and possibilities back to my patients. Returning home to the clinic committed to continue the search for better answers, better care, and better relief for those living with tinnitus.
