The City of Marion and Marion County are working together to create a Land Use Plan that will help guide development and preservation throughout our community over the next 20 years.

This plan is being made possible through grant funding from the Ohio Department of Agriculture and the Marion Community Foundation.

🧼🌎 Global Handwashing Day 🌎🧼

Washing your hands is easy, and it’s one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs. Make handwashing a healthy habit and follow these 5 simple steps every time:

💧 Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap.
🫧 Lather by rubbing your hands together with soap. Don’t forget the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
⏱️ Scrub for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice.
🚿 Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
🧻 Dry your hands using a clean towel or an air dryer.

Let’s keep our hands clean and help protect our families, friends, and communities.

❤️ October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month ❤️

Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any age. In the United States, approximately 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur each year, and nearly 90% are fatal if help isn't provided quickly.

The good news? Bystanders can make a lifesaving difference.

✅ Learn CPR
✅ Know the location of nearby AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators)
✅ Call 911 immediately if someone collapses and is unresponsive
✅ Start CPR right away and use an AED as soon as possible

When every second counts, preparedness can save a life. Let's raise awareness, learn the signs, and empower our communities to respond with confidence.

What a great day for our community! The Rascal Mobile Vet Clinic was a huge success, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make it possible. ❤️

A special thank you to the Marion Area Humane Society , Marion County Ohio Dog Pound , and Tri-Rivers Veterinary Science Program for partnering to make this opportunity happen!

This clinic was more than just providing veterinary care—it was also an incredible hands-on learning experience for Tri-Rivers Veterinary Science students. Students had the opportunity to observe real veterinary procedures, gain valuable experience, and see firsthand what it takes to work in the veterinary field.

Opportunities like this allow students to take what they’ve learned in the classroom and put it into practice, building confidence and skills that will benefit them as they continue their education and careers.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the RASCAL Mobile Vet Clinic such a success!
