It’s Fair time, Mariposa! The weather is looking beautiful, and we hope everyone has a safe and fun-filled weekend enjoying everything the Mariposa County Fair has to offer!

While you’re out enjoying the Fair, remember to:
💧 Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water
🧴 Wear sunscreen and reapply throughout the day
🌤️ Take breaks when you need them
🎉 And most importantly — HAVE FUN!

Be sure to stop by the Mercy Ambulance booth and say hi! Our team will be at the Fair throughout the weekend, and we’d love to see you.

Our booth also serves as the First Aid Station for basic medical needs while you’re at the Fair.

⚕️ If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911. Our on-site First Aid Team will respond to assist you and coordinate with the responding ambulance crew to make sure you receive the care you need.

What an incredible day celebrating America's 250th Birthday right here in Mariposa!
From start to finish, this celebration was exceptionally well planned and brought our community together in the best way possible.

The teamwork between our emergency responders was phenomenal, ensuring everyone could celebrate safely while enjoying this historic milestone. The vendors, food, and festivities were outstanding and truly showcased the spirit of our community.

A heartfelt thank you to every firefighter, law enforcement officer, dispatcher, EMT, paramedic, public works employee, volunteer, and all of the first responders who proudly served today's event. It was an honor to stand alongside so many dedicated professionals on such a patriotic day as we celebrated the birth of our great nation.

Finally, thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with family, friends, and neighbors. Your respect for one another and your commitment to celebrating safely made this event even more special.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend, it is a time to reflect on the courage, selflessness, and dedication of those who gave their lives defending the freedoms we enjoy every day. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

At Mercy Ambulance, we are especially mindful of the meaning of service, commitment, and sacrifice. We stand alongside our community in remembering our fallen heroes, honoring their families, and expressing our deepest gratitude to all who have served.

A special thank you for personally delivering muffins and handwritten cards to our crews. Gestures like these truly mean a lot to all of us at Mercy Ambulance.

We are proud to stand alongside the dedicated physicians, nurses, techs, and healthcare professionals at John C. Fremont in serving the residents and visitors of Mariposa County. Rural EMS comes with unique challenges, but strong partnerships like ours help ensure our community continues to receive compassionate, high quality emergency care when it matters most.

On behalf of all of our EMTs, Paramedics, and staff at Mercy Ambulance, thank you for your continued support, partnership, and appreciation. We are honored to serve this community together.

JCF Hospital Foundation board director Beth Tomsick delivered muffins and personalized cards to Mercy Medical Transportation, Inc. EMT Joseph Ekman and paramedic Robert Hill to honor them for National EMS Week. EMTS and paramedics are a critical part of the rural healthcare team and provide vital services to our community and John C. Fremont Healthcare District patients. They are always on call and always ready to provide Mariposa residents and visitors with life saving emergency care. We are so grateful for their partnership. Join us in celebrating them this week.

Here is a compilation of fun, interesting, and challenging events working in rural EMS. Some of the experiences have turned into lessons learned over the years. For starters, the green fuel nozzle only goes into diesel vehicles, gasoline nozzles do not go into diesel vehicles.

We are incredibly honored and grateful to the residents of Mariposa County for recognizing one of our own in the Mariposa Gazette Readers’ Choice “Best Of” Contest.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for Jonathan Knauf as Best First Responder in Mariposa County. Your support and recognition mean a great deal, not only to Jonathan, but to all of us at Mercy Ambulance who work alongside him every day.

Jonathan is a Paramedic with Mercy Ambulance and currently serves as our Operations Manager. Over the past 24 years of service to the Mariposa community, he has demonstrated the very qualities that define a true first responder, skill, compassion, dedication, and heart. Whether responding to emergencies, mentoring new providers, or leading our team, Jonathan consistently sets the standard for excellence in patient care and leadership.

For those of us who have the privilege to work with him, it is truly an honor to serve under such a great leader. Jonathan’s commitment to this community and to the field of emergency medical services is something we are proud to stand behind every day.
