Ian Oliu Foundation To promote education initiatives and resources to provide mental health awareness both on a local and national level. Ian was our son.

He was our brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He was smart, funny, caring and could light up a room with his presence. He touched more lives than he ever knew. Unfortunately he didn't see any of these traits in himself and he carried around a deep dark depression that he never let anyone see -not even his family or closest friends. Ian took his life the day before his 18th birthday, on

May 31st, 2002. It was two weeks before graduation and he was set to go to college that fall. He left us with an emptiness that will never be filled, and questions that will never be answered. We have loving memories of him that will never die...

We have formed The Ian Oliu Foundation for Life in his memory. We are trying to bring about change. We are trying to let others know that they are not alone and there is always help available.
.. no matter what the future brings, or what we are able to accomplish with this foundation, our thoughts will remain the same...

You never really know the true impact you have on those around you .
You never know how much someone needed that smile you gave them .
You never know how much your kindness turned someone's entire life around .
You never know how much someone needed that long hug or deep talk .
So don't wait to be kind . Don't wait for someone else to be kind first .
Don't wait for better circumstances or for someone to change .
Just be kind , because you never know how much someone
