Last evening, Quality EMS had the privilege of spending time with the congregation at Mars United Presbyterian Church for an AED, First Aid & CPR training!

We love opportunities like this—not just because we get to teach lifesaving skills, but because we get to connect with the people and organizations that make our community so special. Community service is at the heart of what we do, and helping others feel confident and prepared for an emergency is one of the most rewarding parts of our job.

We also want to recognize the congregation at Mars United Presbyterian Church for being proactive about emergency preparedness. Taking the time to learn CPR, First Aid, and how to use an AED means they are better equipped to respond during those critical minutes before EMS arrives.

Air Quality Alert: Protect Yourself

Smoke from the Canadian wildfires has drifted into our region, creating unhealthy air quality conditions across Western Pennsylvania. Even though the fires are hundreds of miles away, the fine particles in the smoke can affect everyone’s health—especially children, older adults, pregnant women, and those with asthma, COPD, heart disease, or other chronic medical conditions.
You can protect yourself by:�✅ Limiting time outdoors, especially strenuous activities.�✅ Keeping windows and doors closed when possible.�✅ Running your air conditioning on the recirculate setting or using an air purifier if available.�✅ Wearing a properly fitted N95 mask if you must spend extended time outside.�✅ Staying well hydrated and monitoring local air quality conditions.

Know when to seek medical attention.�If you or a loved one experiences:�🚑 Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath�🚑 Chest pain or tightness�🚑 Severe or persistent coughing�🚑 Wheezing that doesn’t improve with prescribed medications�🚑 Dizziness, confusion, or bluish lips or fingertips

Don’t ignore these symptoms. Contact your healthcare provider or call 911 immediately if symptoms are severe or life-threatening.

We are honored to serve alongside our law enforcement, fire departments, dispatchers, and all of the dedicated professionals working today to help keep our community safe.

This is shaping up to be an incredible evening filled with live music, family fun, patriotic pride, and an unforgettable fireworks finale. We encourage everyone to come out, celebrate with friends and neighbors, and enjoy everything this special event has to offer.

While you’re making memories, our team will be there to help keep the celebration safe. You’ll find the Quality EMS tent on-site if you have questions or need assistance, and our EMT on bicycle patrol, along with ambulances strategically staged throughout the event, we will be ready to respond quickly should the need arise.

Our hope is that the only thing you’ll need from us is a friendly wave as you pass by!
