As we learned about the tragic loss of another child last week, it is important that we remember there are big emotions in young lives.

Every stage of life comes with its own unique challenges, and sometimes those challenges can begin to feel overwhelming and too heavy to carry alone. As a society, we must ensure that we support one another, regardless of age. We must remind each other that difficult situations are often temporary, even when they feel permanent in the moment. The emotions we experience today will not last forever.

It is also important to remember that just because someone is smiling, joking, interacting with others, or appears happy on the outside does not mean that reflects what is happening in their heart. Some of the deepest struggles are hidden behind the brightest smiles.

Take the time to truly listen during conversations. Ask the uncomfortable questions. Check in on your child, spouse, parent, friend, neighbor, family member, or grandparent. A simple conversation can make more of a difference than you may ever know.

Our hearts are with this family as they navigate these incredibly dark waters. We pray for strength, comfort, and healing in the days ahead.

As the dynamics of the clinic continue to evolve and with Stephanie Pena, MSN, APRN, FNP-C stepping into share the role of Medical Director at Sunflower Wellness, I kindly ask that all Sunflower Wellness communication be directed through the appropriate Sunflower Wellness points of contact.

I want everyone to know that I am still here and still committed to the patients and community I care so deeply about. However, I will also be working for a hospital entity in Florida, and when I am not working there, I will continue to support Sunflower Wellness. Locally, we are fortunate to have Stephanie Pena, Stephanie Musil, and Brenda Navarrete available to provide care and support. I will remain available by email, messages through our platform, telemedicine for appointments, and during my scheduled times with Sunflower Wellness.

I also want to share something personal. For the last four years, I have poured nearly every part of myself into work—whether it was the emergency room, correctional medicine, or building and growing the clinic. While I would not change that journey, I have realized that in the process, my children and family have often received what was left of me instead of the best of me. 😔
As I enter this next chapter, I am committed to creating a healthier balance between being a provider, a business owner, a wife, and most importantly, a mom. On the days I am not working, I want to be fully present for my family. They deserve that, and quite honestly, I need that too. ❤️

Please do not interpret these changes as a sign that you are any less important to me or that I care any less. That could not be further from the truth. The business may look a little different moving forward, but the compassion, dedication, and commitment to excellent care will remain. In fact, many exciting things are happening behind the scenes that will ultimately benefit all of you and strengthen Sunflower Wellness in positive ways.
Thank you for your continued support, understanding, and respect as I make these small but important changes. I truly believe they will be better for everyone involved—my family, our team, and the patients we are honored to serve. 🌻
