✨ One year. One incredible transformation. You can see the development of an open bite beginning, laterals positioned slightly behind the centrals and almost edge to edge on the primary canines and importantly how little room for the tongue to properly rest on the palate.

But these before & after photos tell a story that’s about so much more than teeth. Our first goal was helping this patient break her pacifier habit. But simply taking away a pacifier doesn’t automatically restore healthy oral function.

Prolonged pacifier use can encourage low tongue posture, a tongue thrust swallow, and reduced lip strength, patterns that can influence jaw and arch development over time.

Through myofunctional therapy, we retrained healthy function by establishing proper tongue posture, lip seal, nasal breathing, and a mature swallow pattern. We also incorporated the MyoMunchee to strengthen and coordinate the oral muscles.

When the pacifier habit is eliminated and the muscles begin functioning as they should, we can support more natural jaw development and healthy arch growth during critical years of development.

This is what myofunctional therapy is for, creating healthy function that supports growth. ✨

I didn’t start my myofunctional therapy practice because I stopped loving dentistry… I started it because I saw a gap.

I see signs like mouth breathing, poor tongue function, and oral habits being overlooked every day.

Now I get to help families connect the dots between oral function, breathing, sleep, and overall health while collaborating with amazing providers who are just as passionate about helping kids thrive. 👅✨

My goal is simple: to help families feel heard, find answers, and support their child’s health from the inside out.

Parents, if you’ve ever felt like something was “off” with your child’s breathing, sleep, or oral habits but couldn’t explain why… you’re not alone. Keep asking questions. The mouth is telling a story, and it deserves to be listened to. 🤍

Have you noticed any of these signs in your child? Comment “ME” and I’ll send you some things to look for. 👇

Friendly reminder: We are closed today for an out-of-town wedding celebration. We’ll be back to our normal hours next week and look forward to serving you then. 🤍

Abby Ross, RDH, is a local Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist who helps children and adults develop healthy oral habits, breathing, swallowing, and dental growth. With her background in dental hygiene and hands-on therapy experience, Abby works directly with patients to address challenges like mouth breathing, tongue posture, swallowing difficulties, airway concerns, and functional tongue ties, all things that can affect dental development, sleep, and overall health.

She supports families from the very beginning: helping with infant feeding, guiding parents through healthy oral development in toddlers and young children, assisting teens during orthodontic treatment, and working with adults who have airway or oral function concerns.

Abby’s approach is supportive, educational, and family-centered. She provides local, accessible care, so families don’t have to travel to bigger cities for this specialized therapy. She also collaborates with dentists, orthodontists, ENTs, speech therapists, and other healthcare providers to make sure every child and adult receives complete, team-based care.

Through personalized therapy and practical guidance, Abby helps families build healthy habits that support proper oral function, swallowing, breathing, dental development, and long-term wellness.

Come see Abby and the rest of the Eden team on Tuesday, March 24 to be entered to win gift card to the Omaha Zoo from Northwest Myofuncational Therapy!

Proud of this community I get to share a space with, toss around ideas, dreams and get insight from different specialists perspectives all in one space 🩷

Eden Wellness Collective was created by women who believe care should feel personal, collaborative, and rooted in compassion.

We are a group of independently owned wellness practices sharing space, values, and a commitment to high standards. While each business operates independently, we are united in purpose: to provide exceptional, relationship-centered care that helps individuals and families grow, heal, and thrive.

Eden is more than a space — it’s a community.

Today, on International Women’s Day, we honor the women who built this vision — and the women, mothers, and families we are privileged to care for every day.

Hi, I’m Abby! 👋 I’m a dental hygienist and myofunctional therapist, and I love helping kids (and adults!) develop healthy oral habits that support long-term growth, function, and overall wellness. 🦷✨

Myofunctional therapy focuses on how the mouth, tongue, and facial muscles work together. Paying attention to patterns like:
• Tongue resting low
• Mouth open at rest
• Difficulty chewing or swallowing
• Teeth grinding
• Speech or articulation differences

…can tell us a lot about how the mouth is functioning and guide healthy development.

This page is all about sharing information, helping you notice patterns, and giving you tools to support oral function early. Consider it your “start here” space to learn, observe, and understand more about myofunctional therapy and why it matters.

Whether you’re curious about your child’s habits, your own oral function, or just want to learn more, you’re in the right place. 💛
