Women’s intimate health concerns are far more common than most people realize — we just don’t talk about them enough.
Vaginal dryness. Discomfort during intimacy. Changes in vaginal tissue. Urinary urgency. Leaking when you cough, laugh, exercise, or sneeze. These symptoms can affect confidence, intimacy, and everyday quality of life — and millions of women experience them.
The numbers are eye-opening:
• Research estimates that Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM) affects approximately 27–84% of postmenopausal women. GSM can include vaginal dryness, burning and irritation, painful in*******se, urinary urgency, discomfort with urination, and other urinary symptoms.
• A systematic review and meta-analysis found GSM in approximately 55% of postmenopausal women.
• In a study of 2,621 women attending a urogynecology clinic, 38% reported vaginal laxity. It was significantly associated with stress urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, decreased vaginal sensation during in*******se, and a negative impact on sexual health.
So what can modern technology offer?
Morpheus8V, part of the EmpowerRF platform by InMode, uses fractional bipolar radiofrequency delivered through microneedles to target vaginal tissue at controlled depths. The goal is to stimulate tissue remodeling, including collagen and elastin processes.
And now we have clinical research specifically evaluating this technology.
In a prospective study of 20 women experiencing stress and/or mixed urinary incontinence together with GSM, one Morpheus8V treatment was followed for 6 months. All 8 measured outcomes improved. Researchers reported significant improvements in urinary frequency, urgency, nighttime urination, urge incontinence, and stress incontinence during follow-up.
A larger multicenter study enrolled 71 women with GSM who received three treatments approximately four weeks apart using the MorpheusV applicator.
At 6 months:
Vaginal Health Index Score improved from 15.00 → 20.23
Female Sexual Function Index improved from 18.81 → 22.81
Urogenital Distress Inventory score improved from 39.58 → 22.42
These changes were statistically significant (P < .001), and no adverse events were repo
