Getting results is one thing. Keeping them is another.
Here are 5 things I believe make fitness sustainable:
1. Build a plan you can actually live with.
If you can’t consistently follow it, it’s not the right plan.
2. Don’t rely on motivation.
Build habits and systems that work even when motivation isn’t there.
3. Expect life to get in the way.
Busy weeks, vacations, stress, and unexpected problems are going to happen. Build a plan that can adapt.
4. Don’t let a setback become a spiral.
You don’t need to “start over Monday.” Look for the next opportunity to do something that moves you closer to your goal.
5. Let someone else help you adjust the plan.
Sometimes you’re too close to your own situation to see what’s getting in the way. A coach can provide a different perspective, help you identify the obstacle, and adjust the plan accordingly.
Sustainable results don’t come from doing everything perfectly.
They come from having a plan you can follow, adapting when life changes, and continuing to move forward.
