I found this old journal page today, and it made me smile.

It's filled with all the "what ifs" I was asking myself before taking some big steps: hosting retreats, growing my practice in new ways, and creating a life that felt more aligned with who I wanted to become.

What stood out most wasn't the list of goals. It was this question:

"What are the risks of not stepping forward?"

Sometimes we're so focused on what could go wrong that we forget to ask what we might miss by staying where we are.

I'm grateful I kept moving, one small step at a time. And with more retreats on the horizon, it feels like the perfect reminder that growth often starts with a single honest conversation with yourself.

What dream have you been putting off because it feels scary?

One of my favorite ways to unwind is spending time in the kitchen.

Cooking isn't about making the perfect meal. For me, it's about slowing down, being creative, and enjoying the process. Some days that's exactly what I need after a busy schedule.

It's a reminder that taking care of ourselves often happens in the small moments we choose to be fully present.

πŸ’› A reminder for today.

"We forget the gold."

Life has a way of pulling our attention toward what's missing or what's difficult. Tara Brach's words remind us that beneath the stress and distractions, our capacity for love, awareness, and resilience is still there.

Sometimes the journey isn't about finding something outside ourselves. It's about remembering the strengths and goodness we've had all along.

What helps you reconnect with your inner "gold"? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

A simple moment, a genuine smile, and a little reminder to appreciate where you are.

Life has a way of teaching us that we don't have to have everything figured out to enjoy today. We can keep learning, keep growing, and still pause long enough to notice what's going well.

Lately, I've been reminding myself to celebrate progress instead of waiting for perfection.

What's something you're grateful for today? πŸ’š

Sometimes the best days are the ones with no agenda β˜€οΈπŸŒΏ
A little time outdoors, fresh air, and enjoying the moment together. Days like this are a reminder that slowing down does not mean doing less. It means noticing more.
Grateful for simple moments that bring connection, calm, and a chance to just enjoy being present.

Running a private practice has taught me that success is about more than milestones and metrics.

It is about the relationships you build, the trust you earn, and the community you create over time.

As a psychiatrist, retreat host, yoga enthusiast, home cook, and pottery lover, I have learned that our unique experiences often become our greatest strengths.

This boat may no longer sail, but it still has a story to tell.

One of my favorite moments from our Portugal retreat was simply standing still and watching the sky change colors. Sometimes the most memorable experiences aren't the planned ones. They're the quiet pauses in between.

Being kind to ourselves is not always easy.
We often practice patience and compassion with others while holding ourselves to a different standard.
Mindfulness invites something different: slowing down, noticing what we feel, and responding with a little more understanding.
There is strength in meeting yourself with kindness.

Some places make you slow down without even trying 🌿
I spent a beautiful day in a garden in Miami with my daughter, surrounded by family and quiet moments of connection.
It was one of those days that gently reminds you to breathe, notice your surroundings, and appreciate the simple things.
Life moves quickly, and taking time to pause and be present really does matter.
