"Something's not right. I can't quite put my finger on it."
If you find yourself feeling this way about your own life, if you find yourself saying things like, "I don't have time." (Especially when you're talking about time for yourself to take a little walk, read a chapter in your book, sit in quiet for a moment or take an online course you've been dying to learn), well, I've got a thought you may not like....
Maybe it's you?
Maybe you were never taught how to set boundaries.
Maybe you were taught that women, moms, wives, are supposed to be the source of literally everything for everyone.
You're supposed to be the caretaker, meal planner, grocery shopper, house cleaner and most likely also making money and don't forget at the end of the day you're supposed to be sexy and please your spouse.
Is it no wonder women have 75% of all autoimmune cases? Our bodies are literally attacking their own cells, perhaps to make us stop the insanity and slow down.
Perhaps as a big red flag that you are not going to live long if you keep this up.
It seems daunting and perhaps you'll need help from a professional to figure out ways to do it, but you can do it.
You can set healthy boundaries around yourself, around your time. You can say no. You can decide what situations will put you at greater risk for stress that you don't want to have.
Listen, if you find yourself saying you don't have 20 minutes to take a morning walk, or you find you don't have time to actually sit down and eat your meal because you're shoveling food in your mouth while you work on the computer or clean while you eat, there is something way out of alignment my friend.
Maybe you need to schedule a few hours on the weekend to write down some ideas on things you can change to allow yourself more self care.
Everyone's situation is different and I know it's not easy, but if you don't change something now, believe me, your body will eventually change it for you.
Who will take care of your family when you're in the hospital or worse, when you're not here at all.
Your health and vitality are at risk, you need to step up for yourself. ~Amy~
