Pull up a chair, all my loves, and welcome back to today's Tea Time with Bloom! 🥰☕

Go ahead and pour yourself a warm cup, because today’s session is going to feel a little bit different. I’m leaning in close today to tell you a story—a truly beautiful, yet sad story, that is still being actively written every day for its Happily Ever After. 📖❤️
I wanted to bring this story right here to our table so you can all be a part of this wonderful, dream-filled tale. So, pass the sugar, make sure everyone has a spot, and let’s grab our brightest colored, loudest designed teacups. ☕🌈 Wrap your hands around your mug, get cozy, and settle in while I tell you the beautiful story of a boy with a giant pumpkin head. 🎃✨

Once upon a time, a beautiful child was born to a dedicated Beekeeper and his beloved Queen. 🐝👑 He was the youngest of four little bees, born unique with a giant pumpkin head. 🎃 As he grew up within the safety of his Hive, he certainly gave his Queen Bee mom a few extra gray hairs, but he also showed the world the incredible talents he possessed. 🍯✨
He made life beautiful and unpredictable. When he was angry, he would hilariously teach everyone a new song by grunting to the tune of "Jingle Bells." 🎄🎵 He fiercely protected his pumpkins, yelling at his Beekeeper dad for accidentally mowing over the patches he grew by simply tossing seeds onto the front lawn. 🎃🌱 He was always proudly showing off his newest favorite "plant baby," swearing to everyone that he would absolutely "keep it alive this time." 🌿🪴 On walks, he made sure to introduce and name every single tree he saw just for you. 🌳🏷️ And he could never resist catching yet another kitten in dire need of a loving home. 🐱❤️ Wherever he went, he left the world a whole lot brighter and a bit more colorful.🎨
While he shared a special bond with each of his siblings, there was one sister he spent almost every single day with—the second oldest child of the Hive. 🍯🐝 Their bond took plenty of time and many legendary fights to forge, but it grew into something irreplaceable. They became more than siblings; they were coworkers, partners in crime, biggest fans, fierce supporters, ultimate secret keepers, and best friends. They were everything to each other. 🔗❤️
From braving a grueling COVID line together, to traveling to foreign countries alone as each other’s official “proof of life,” to driving on spontaneous road trips halfway across the country, everyone knew them as a package deal. 🚗✈️ Those who saw them together called them the "Dream Team" or the "Miracle Workers." They knew each other's strengths perfectly and always made the magic happen. ✨
The Beekeeper and his Queen Bee truly raised four strong leaders in life. 👑🐝 The siblings would always flutter around helping their mom at her craft shows. Together, they mapped out big, beautiful dreams. The daughter planned to take her handmade crafts live into a real business. 🎨💼 Meanwhile, the youngest brother planned to take his beloved mother plants and build his own greenhouse and garden world, setting up his sales tables right next to hers. 🪴🏡 He was ready to share his deep love of plants with the world—and since he already knew practically everyone, the world was ready for him. He had his dreams mapped out, with his Momma and Jennie Lynne right there by his side. 🗺️💚
But then, during his absolute favorite season—just as the whole Hive was getting ready for him to decorate—a sudden, dark storm swept over them. ⛈️💔 It arrived with fierce thunder and lightning, bringing a deep, crushing pain felt by all. The heavy clouds completely blocked out the sun as the earth itself mourned the youngest bee being called home. 🌧️🕊️
As the Beekeeper, the Queen, and the three remaining siblings were wrapped in a tight embrace of love by everyone who knew him, a miracle happened. They watched the heavy storm clouds begin to break. 🌦️ The sun fought its way through the darkness, and a vibrant rainbow painted the sky to remind them all that he is still right here. 🌈✨
Now, every single day, the Hive carries him with them. They keep his memory alive by spreading his signature color and light to everyone they meet. ☀️💛 His big sister took home his cherished mother plants. With a beautiful twist on their original dreams, she is keeping his garden growing strong—still right there, side-by-side with Momma. 🪴👩‍👧🌿

And that, my loves, is how a boy with a giant pumpkin head managed to leave a light that even the darkest storm could never blow out. The table might feel a little quieter, but his laughter still echoes every time a new root takes hold. Thank you for sharing this cup of tea with me today, and for carrying a piece of his bright, beautiful spirit out into the world with you. Until our next tea time, hold your loved ones close, tend to your own gardens, and never forget to live out loud in full color and Bloom every chance you can. 🌿❤️🍂

🪖PLEASE EXCUSE THE PANIC, BLOOM IS IN A LOCKDOWN WITH ONE OF HER FAVORITE PLANT SPECIES, WE HAVE A BREACH ON THE ALOCASIA. 🪖

Listen to me closely. If you just spotted a single strand of fine webbing or tiny speckles on your Alocasia, do not pass go, do not collect $200. Isolate that plant immediately. Move it to solitary confinement before these tiny demons march across your shelves and claim your entire collection.

Alocasias are spider mite magnets, and I’ve fought this war before. I've lost gorgeous elephant ears to these monsters and so many more good soldiers (RIP my 4 foot beautiful ponytail palm 2023). But we caught this early, which means we have the upper hand. Ready to battle? Grab your gear. Here is your 3-step battle plan to eradicate them before they ruin those beautiful leaves.

🚿 Phase 1: Heavy Artillery (Blast & Wash)

Secure the perimeter: Wrap a plastic grocery bag tightly around the pot base. Do not let infested soil wash away or catch falling mites.
Unleash the shockwave: Take that Alocasia to the shower or sink. Blast it thoroughly with a strong stream of lukewarm water.
Check the trenches: Direct the water blast underneath those massive leaves and right into the deep crevices of the stems. That is enemy headquarters where they live and lay eggs.
Hand-to-hand combat: Use a wet paper towel to physically wipe down the long stems and wipe away any leftover webbing. Leave nothing behind.

🧪 Phase 2: Chemical Warfare (Organic Style)

Once the plant dries completely, it's time to suffocate the survivors and their microscopic eggs. Choose your weapon and spray the entire plant heavily:
The Classic (Neem Oil): Mix 1 tbsp organic neem oil + a few drops of dish soap + 1 quart warm water. (this is where I start, but remember Neem can burn leaves if exposed to intense sunlight, so I do this at night once the sun goes down)
The Standard Issue (Insecticidal Soap): Drench the foliage with a pre-mixed, store-bought spray. (this is my second stage to keep up with treatment. Pure organic, safe for even those fruit trees!)
The Scorched Earth (Rubbing Alcohol Mix): Combine 1 cup of 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol + 3 cups water + a few drops of mild dish soap. (I will do this more to clean my plant with a wipe down)

🌬️ Phase 3: Scorched Earth Tactics (Change the Environment)

Deploy climate control: Alocasias love humidity anyway, but mites hate it. They thrive in hot, dry air. Run a humidifier right next to your plant to slow the enemy's life cycle.
Hold the line: Mite eggs hatch every few days. Do not celebrate early just because the leaves look clean. You must repeat this washing and spraying routine every 5 to 7 days for at least 3 consecutive weeks to completely break their reproductive cycle.

We win this war through consistency, people. Save the Alocasia! I will keep everyone posted on my battle!

Drop a photo of your combat zone below if you need me to help check the damage or if we’re fighting the same enemy! 👇

Are you noticing you're constantly tired in this summer heat 🥱☀️ ? If so, this post is for you!

💧 You’re drinking 8️⃣ glasses of water but still feel sluggish. 🥱 Why? Because summer heat ☀️ drains your electrolytes, not just water! 🥵 When you sweat, you lose sodium, potassium, and magnesium. Chugging plain water can actually dilute your remaining minerals 📉. How do you know if you just need extra water 💧 or if you need electrolytes? 🔋

Here are some of the signs your body needs more electrolytes:

🚨 Physical Signs of Electrolyte Depletion

😣 Persistent Headaches: Low sodium levels cause brain tissues to swell, leading to a dull, throbbing pressure.

❤️‍🩹 Muscle Cramps or Spasms: Insufficient magnesium and potassium cause muscles to involuntarily contract or twitch.

🚽 Frequent Urination: Peeing every 20–30 minutes after drinking water means your body is flushing it out instead of absorbing it.

💧 Clear Urine: Completely clear urine (rather than a pale lemonade color) can signal that you are over-hydrating and diluting your mineral levels.

🧠 Mental and Energy Signs

🌫️ Brain Fog: A lack of sodium disrupts the electrical signals in your nervous system, causing mental fatigue and poor focus.

🐌Sluggishness or Fatigue: Feeling weak or exhausted despite sleeping well and drinking gallons of water.

😵‍💫 Dizziness upon Standing: A sudden drop in blood pressure when you stand up can indicate low sodium and fluid volume.

👅 Cravings and Digestion Signs

🧂 Intense Salt Cravings: Your body's natural mechanism signaling that your sodium levels are dangerously low.

🧁 Sudden Sugar Cravings: Dehydration and mineral loss impair the liver's ability to release glycogen, mimicking low blood sugar.

🤢 Nausea or Loss of Appetite: A classic symptom of mild hyponatremia (low blood sodium levels) often brought on by chugging plain water during heavy sweat sessions.

Now how do we replace those electrolytes in a health conscious way 🤔? To replace electrolytes healthily, you must focus on whole foods and natural fluids rather than commercial sports drinks, which are often loaded with excess refined sugars and artificial dyes (like Gatorade, Powerade, propel, etc.). Here are some healthy examples!

🥛 Natural Beverages

🥥 Coconut Water: Drink this "nature’s sports drink" to get an immediate, potassium-rich boost that is naturally low in sugar.

🍲 Bone Broth: Sip warm or chilled bone broth to efficiently

replenish both sodium and collagen lost during sweaty workouts.

🫗 Mineral Water: Opt for natural mineral water instead of purified tap water to subtly increase your daily intake of calcium and magnesium.

🍋🍯 DIY Hydration Mix: Stir a pinch of sea salt, a squeeze of fresh lemon, and a teaspoon of raw honey into a glass of water.

🥑 Electrolyte-Rich Whole Foods

🍌 Potassium: Eat bananas, avocados, sweet potatoes, and salmon to regulate blood pressure and prevent muscle cramps.

🍫 Magnesium: Consume spinach, pumpkin seeds, almonds, and dark chocolate to support muscle relaxation and nervous system function.

🥒 Sodium & Chloride: Snack on celery, olives, pickles, or cottage cheese to safely replace the exact salts lost through heavy sweating.

🥛 Calcium: Incorporate Greek yogurt, Dried Figs & Edamame, or fortified tofu into your snacks to support proper cellular fluid balance

Don't let the summer heat slow you down! ☀️ Save this post for your next beach day or workout, and share it with a friend who always forgets their electrolytes, I know who I am telling! 💧💛.

Welcome back to the table today friends with me for Bloom Naturally's Tea Time🪴. Today’s tea is hot 🍵, but our skincare gossip is sticky . We are revealing why your skin is begging for honey with our very own local Bee Cool Pollination/Honey🍯.

You know how we pretend our skin behaves all the time? Lets be real: Absolute lies 🙊. We all act like we just "drink water and mind our business," but let’s be real. 🤥 Behind closed doors, we are aggressively slapping on cute star-shaped acne patches to hide a mountain, picking at things we shouldn't in the 10x magnifying mirror, and praying our 12-step routine fixes last night's mistakes. 🤫⭐️ Well, step away from the mirror and let's spill the real gossip on what honey actually does behind closed doors for your face. ☕️🐝

🏜️ The "Dry & Dehydrated" Chronicles

Darling, if your face is giving the Sahara Desert, honey is the ultimate secret lover.

💯The Ultimate Clingy Partner: Honey is a natural humectant. It literally snatches moisture right out of the air and locks it down into your skin tissue. 😲💦

👻 The Ghostwriter Barrier: It leaves behind a microscopic sugar shield to seal in hydration. It blocks trans-epidermal water loss so your moisture can't sneak out of the club early. 🛑🚪

🥶 Flakiness? Cancelled: Honey uses mild gluconic acid to gently dissolve dead, crusty flakes. No harsh physical scrubs required. We dissolve our enemies quietly here. 🧖‍♀️✨

🛢️ The "Oily & Acne-Prone" Drama

Now, for my oily, breakout-prone babes (I feel you 😣)... you thought honey would make you greasy? Listen to this.

🕵🏻‍♀️The Murder Mystery: Acne is caused by a nasty little bacteria called Cutibacterium acnes. Honey sneaky-drops trace amounts of hydrogen peroxide to completely wipe them out inside your pores. Criminal minds, honestly. 🔎💥

🌟All the Perks, No Baggage: Honey hydrates your cells thoroughly with zero weight. No grease, no clogged pores, just pure plumping without the extra shine. We love a no-strings-attached arrangement. 🕊️✨

🙈Fading the Evidence: Got acne scars? Honey’s natural enzymes accelerate cell regeneration. It speeds up healing and fades hyperpigmentation so fast, it’s like the breakout never happened. What scar? We don't know her. 🧾❌

Leans in closer and lowers voice 🤫 Now, if you want the real underground magic to take this routine from basic to absolute high-society Skin-craft, look at this simple 20 minute prep and 15 minute sit recipe I use! Where to get the ingredients? Just a quick stop down to The Crystal Hive right on Main Street in Mays Landing to score the good stuff. 🔮🐝✨

⏳ The Stats:

-Prep Time: 5 minutes (faster than it takes to text your boss back) ⏱️
-Sit Time: 15 minutes (perfect length for a full scroll session) 📱
-Vibe: Pure Spa Luxury (pretending we have our life completely together) 🧖‍♀️✨

🌿 The Secret Agents (The Ingredients)

- 2 tbsp Raw Honey: Our golden, antibacterial mastermind. She locks down moisture like a vault but promises not to clog your pores. 🍯🔒
-1 tsp Dried Chamomile or Calendula Flowers: Absolute royalty. -They immediately calm redness, shut down inflammation, and treat sensitive skin like a fragile heiress. 🌼👑
-½ tsp Dried Thyme or Rosemary (Finely Ground): The heavy lifters. These are powerful natural purifiers that target nasty acne-causing bacteria and strip excess oil of its power. 🌿🚫🛢️

🥣 The Under-the-Table Mix (Step-by-Step)

1). Grind the Evidence: Grab a mortar and pestle—or just smash them with the back of a spoon when you don’t want to be fancy. Crush those dried herbs into a fine, silky powder. We want smooth gossip, not a scratchy physical scrub. 🌿🔨
2). Infuse the Plot: Pour that raw honey into a small bowl. Stir in your freshly pulverized herbs until they are completely mingled. They’re roommates now. 🥣🤝
3). Let it Steep: Let the mixture sit tight for 5 to 10 minutes. This is where the magic happens—the botanical properties are whispering all their secrets directly into the honey. 🤫⏳
4). Apply & Chill: Smooth that gorgeous layer over a clean, damp face. Sit back, lift that pinky finger with a good book (quick grab from the Crystal Hive Chapter 2, The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods is a one you won’t regret), and let it work its magic for 15 minutes. 🧖‍♀️🛋️
5). The Clean Rinse: Gently wash it away with warm water using light, circular motions, then pat dry. Do not aggressively rub your face like you're scrubbing a dirty pan, darling! 🌊🧼

Takes one last dramatic sip of tea and sets down the cup ☕️✨

The pot is empty, but the secrets are out, darlings . Let’s wash away the drama, fake like we have our lives 100% together, and leave them all wondering why our skin looks so expensive. Mwah! 😘🐝🔮

P.S. Remember to grab your local raw honey from Bee Cool Pollination/Honey, then swing right back by The Crystal Hive on Main Street to uncover even more magical treasures—and honestly, just stay to sip a cup of tea with us! 🐝🔮☕️

No backyard? Small apartment? No problem! Your windowsill is about to become your new favorite grocery aisle for fresh herbs 🪴 with these simple steps!

1. First choose the right spot for your new herb garden. Most herbs will need at least 4 to 6 hours of bright, indirect light (think of the sunlight that shines on you while under a tree, which is abundant but its diffused prior to hitting the plant) A way to do this is a sheer curtain, or an east facing or south facing window, or you can always use a grow light!

2. Pick your Pots and Dirt: You want to ensure you are picking pots that have drainage holes and are deep enough to prevent root rot. Most herbs need a pot that is at least 6 inches deep. Terracotta pots are my personal favorite to use with my herbs, but ceramic and stackable work perfectly fine also! For your dirt, you should always use a high-quality, well-draining indoor potting mix rather than outdoor garden soil. Herbs hate sitting in soggy mud. Look for mixes containing perlite or coarse sand to create air pockets for the roots

3. Pick Your Herbs!!: With you first you want to start with some Herbs that thrive in pots and containers and won’t take up much space. Here are a few of my favorites with theyre uses and a few tips for each, including if they are pet safe !

Basil – loves sun, great for pesto, pairs beautifully with tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, olive oil, pasta, pizzas, and summer salads. Basil can also act as a mild digestive aid. Completely pet-safe

Mint – spreads fast; keep in a separate pot to prevent taking over. Refreshing in fruit salads, ice creams (mint chocolate chip), and summer cocktails like mojitos. Mint is a powerhouse for soothing nausea and an upset stomach. Peppermint leaves contain menthol, which helps relaxes the muscles of the digestive tract. Drinking mint tea or breathing in the steam can also help clear sinus congestion and ease tension headaches. Requires caution around pets.

Parsley – adaptable to partial sun. Chop it finely into chimichurri sauces, mix it into garlic butter, throw it into soups, or use as a garnish for nice dinner plates. Parsley is incredibly dense in vitamins A, C, and K. It acts as a natural diuretic, helping the body flush out excess fluids and supporting kidney health. Requires caution around pets.

Thyme – low-maintenance, prefers full sun. Great with roasted potatoes, poultry, roasted vegetables, stews, and slow-cooked marinades. Thyme is a premier remedy for cough and respiratory support. It contains thymol, a natural antimicrobial compound. Brewing fresh thyme tea and breathing the vapors can help loosen stubborn mucus, soothe a sore throat, and suppress nagging bronchial coughs. Completely pet-safe

Sage – hardy and aromatic. Sage is a traditional staple in holiday stuffing, sausage making, and rich brown butter sauces for gnocchi or butternut squash because of its robust, slightly pine like flavor. Sage is highly valued for oral health and throat relief. Its strong antibacterial properties fight the microbes that cause dental plaque. Completely pet-safe

4. Maintain Proper Care:

Watering: Keep soil moist but not soggy; herbs prefer consistent moisture.

Feeding: Use a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 2–4 weeks.

Pruning: Snip leaves regularly to encourage bushier growth.

Airflow: A small fan or open window helps prevent pests

5. Enjoy year-round harvests!!!: Indoor herbs can be picked and used anytime, reducing waste and saving money
