NOVA Oncology Cancer Center, On site Laboratory and Infusion Suite, Located in the Heart of Mcallen Medical center welcome patients starting April-15-2025

Hello, My name is Raghad. I'm a cancer doctor and I'm very passionate about what I do. I love science, biology and humans. Oncology makes the best field for me where I practice my skills and provide care for my patients. I have worked for 4 years in oncology drug development in addition to my official fellowship training in hematology and in oncology. This means, I work with patients who needs cli

nical trials. Those patients are very worried and can be very sick from burden of disease or accompanying illness. My goal is treat the patient and try to find a drug ( still in the phase of a trial) to any cancer patient comes to my practice. I work with various sponsors to develop a program in the Detroit Suburbs to patients living in 50-100 miles radius. I believe clinical trials is best delivered in private practice lead by physicians where red tape is minimized so study activation time is vastly shortened. The practice opens November 1st.

.
Phase I trials provide an excellent option for patients who have no other options.
Contrary to the belief and the historic function of phase I studies as " toxicity studies" recent data suggest that the chances of achieving a response ( shrinkage of overall cancer size by >=30%) is now about 20% and it can even be higher if we choose the right molecular profile to 40%.

We encourage regular oncologist to look for a possible trial for their patients.

a drug that target a rare genetic mutation in lung cancer was approved in 2014 from testing it on only 59 patients. It was approved from the phase I stage. Phase I part of drug testing is when the drug is first approved to be tried in human subjects after animal studies.

We want more approvals and more patients participate in those studies.
