Managing your child’s health during the school year is now a whole lot easier.

Sandhills Medical is bringing checkups, sick visits, and counseling right into 12 Kershaw County schools. For a lot of families, that means their child can get care without missing a day of class or a parent missing work.

No student gets turned away. Families without insurance pay based on what they can afford through our sliding fee scale, and we accept Medicaid and most insurance plans. Care is there for teachers and staff, too.

Sandhills Medical is now bringing healthcare into 12 Kershaw County schools. Here's a closer look at what's available and where for the 2026-27 school year.

These schools have both counseling and medical care on site:

Doby's Mill Elementary
North Central Elementary
Pine Tree Hill Elementary
Wateree Elementary

These schools have counseling on site:
Lugoff Elementary
Jackson Elementary
Lugoff-Elgin Middle
The Continuous Learning Center

These schools have medical care on site:
Camden Middle
North Central Middle,
Leslie M. Stover Middle

Every family needs to sign a consent form before their child is seen, and no child is ever turned away because of cost.

Sandhills Medical is now active inside 12 Kershaw County schools, bringing doctors, a care team, and licensed counselors to where students already spend their day.

A sick student can see the school nurse, who connects them to a Sandhills doctor by secure video visit using tools that check ears, throat, heart, and lungs right there in the nurse's office.

Most students can now receive treatment on campus and return to class the same period! First, a parent signs a consent form, and the nurse always calls home before anything happens.

Counseling is available too, giving students a licensed counselor to talk to about anxiety, sadness, friendships, or anything else weighing on them.

No family is ever turned away for cost.

Behind every healthy community is a network of people who keep showing up.

Last week during National Health Center Week, our partners set up at our Lugoff site, met families face to face, and connected people to resources they did not know were available. Friday was Partners' Appreciation Day, and it was a good way to end the week.
