Nourish Our Neighbors was an initiative created during National Health Center Week to assist the seniors in our community with goodies that meet their daily needs. This initiative started on July 23, 2026 through August 6, 2026. The employees at St. James Health and Wellness had a task to complete for two weeks. The task was to place items in a box for the seniors in our community. Some of the items that were placed in the box were non-perishable items, incontinence supplies, and toiletries.

On August 6, 2026, the Social Worker (Ms. Shanav’a Simmons) at St. James Health and Wellness and the Outreach Worker (Ms. Othelia Britton) went out and delivered the boxes to three locations that would benefit from the items. The three locations were North Santee Senior Citizen Center, Georgetown Senior Citizen Center, and Ny’s Adult Daycare.

This initiative was fun because St. James Health and Wellness loves giving back to the community, especially the seniors. The senior boxes was created with love and the seniors were excited that St. James Health and Wellness had them in mind. Even though the theme for August 6, 2026 was Population Focus Day, the employees at St. James Health and Wellness will always strive to put our patients and the people in our community first.
