Some vaccines need a series of doses to be effective, so be sure to schedule back-to-school immunizations early this summer in case your child may need follow-up doses before the 2026-27 school year starts. (You can ask your child’s doctor or county health department about your child’s schedule and make sure it’s up to date.) When your child is immunized against vaccine-preventable diseases, it helps prevent an outbreak at their school and contributes to better health for all children in Georgia.
