You’ve learned:
* Techniques
* Methods
* Product recommendations

But when it comes to:
* Explaining your decisions
* Predicting how hair will behave
* Creating a clear plan for your client
…does it translate consistently across the full spectrum of hair texture?

The Texture Dynamics Framework™ was created to give you that missing structure so you can:
✔ Assess hair accurately
✔ Understand its behavior
✔ Make informed decisions
✔ Deliver consistent results
Across the full spectrum of hair textures.

And now—
Week 1 of the May Intensive is live and our first LIVE session will take place Monday 3/4 . You’re not too late.

Comment “May Intensive” to join.

Today is Day one.

The Texture Dynamics Framework™ May Intensive has officially begun—and this is where we move beyond technique and into true understanding.

This is not just about styling hair.
This is about learning how to:

* Assess hair accurately
* Understand how it behaves
* Make informed decisions
* And deliver consistent results across the full texture spectrum

If you’ve ever felt like you know what to do… but can’t always explain why or repeat it consistently—this is where that changes.

You’re not too late to join.
You’re right on time.

Comment “May Intensive” and I’ll send you the details.

Part 2: The Finish of a Great Roller Set on Kinky, Coily & Tightly Curly Hair (that is NOT heat trained)

One of the biggest misunderstandings about roller sets is expecting the hair to come out perfectly smooth the moment the rollers come down.

If you have a tight texture and your hair is not heat trained, that’s usually not what’s going to happen.

You will often still see some texture after the roller set. And that’s normal.

The roller set gives you the foundation: stretch, body, and curl formation.

The next step is refinement.

After removing the rollers, run a light pass with a flat iron to smooth the texture. Then go back through and shape the curls to create movement and polish.

The key is always honoring your heat threshold.

Once you understand your heat threshold, you’ll know:
• what temperature your hair can tolerate
• how many passes are safe
• and how to smooth the hair without damaging it.

If you want to learn how to identify and manage your texture heat threshold, comment TEXTURE PROFILE and I’ll DM you information about my book Deciphering the Dynamics of Textured Hair.

Part 1 - The Foundation
A Great Roller set comes down to avoiding three simple mistakes:
• The hair not being wet enough
• The sections too large
• There’s no intentional over-direction

A proper roller set reshapes the hair with water, tension, and controlled sectioning. When that foundation is right, you don’t need heavy products. In fact, all you really need is heat protection, and a water-based styler like our Okra Fusion Foam for extra support.

Done correctly, a roller set creates smooth curls, movement, and body, finished with a flat iron for a polished look.

Want the slip and lightweight hold I’m talking about?

Use Curl Definition’s Okra Fusion Foam Slip Styler for smooth, defined roller sets.

Healthy textured hair doesn’t happen by accident. It happens with intention.
So for March, here’s our Curl focus:
Moisture.
Application.
Respect.
Cleansing.
Handling with care.

Every decision you make either supports your strands or stresses them.

This month, remember that your hair responds to consistency. Choose patience over panic.
Choose knowledge over trends.
Choose discipline over impulse.

This is a week-old twistout.
Instead of re-twisting, I reshaped it by working within the hair’s Heat Threshold.
Gentle warmth loosens hydrogen bonds.
Cool air resets them in the elongated position.
No damage. No excessive manipulation. Just intentional reshaping.
This is what happens when you understand your hair’s thresholds.

Detangling and curl defining are not the same service. This distinction is important to know.

Detangling is done from the ends upward withba detangling tool to gently remove shed hair and knots. That step is intentional and foundational.

Curl defining is done from root to end on hair that has already been detangled. Why? Because defining is about encouraging curl formation. When you comb from the ends upward during defining, you over-separate the strands and disrupt the curl pattern. The result is frizz.

Technique matters. Order matters. Intention matters.

If you want products, tools, and education that support optimal curl definition without compromising the integrity of your strands, visit Curl Definition.

We don’t just sell products. We teach technique and help you define your curls with intention, not guesswork.

A lot of men are trying to grow their hair out and getting frustrated because the top isn’t keeping up with the sides and back.
That’s not failure. That’s biology.
Between 25–35, growth can slow, especially at the crown and hairline. The solution isn’t pressure or tight styles. It’s patience, smart trimming, low tension, and consistent scalp care.
Trim the sides more often than the top.
Avoid high-tension styles.
Give your hair time to respond.
With the right approach and targeted support like peptide and beta-carotene serums, growth becomes a process you can work with, not fight against.
Patience. Care. Strategy.
You can get there.

At the start of the year, most people think their hair needs something new.

More products.
More fixes.
More effort.

But what your curls actually need is clarity, balance, and consistency.

When you understand your hair’s current state, reset your foundation, restore hydration, and support elasticity, everything else starts to make sense. Curls respond better. Moisture lasts longer. Styling becomes easier.

This is why Curl Definition isn’t about quick fixes.
It’s about supporting the process your hair needs to thrive.

If you’re ready to reset your routine with intention, not urgency, you can save on Curl Definition systems designed to support clean foundations, hydration, and elasticity.

Use code RESET26 to start the year informed and supported.
