Token boards. Sticker charts. Fixed ratio schedules.

They work. For a while. But here's what we know:

The real world doesn't run on token boards.

In S.O.C.I.A.L. P.O.D.S., we deliberately FADE artificial reinforcement systems and replace them with natural, social, and activity-based consequences.

What natural reinforcement looks like:
🌟 Child asks for help opening a container → gets the item inside (not a token)
🤝 Child shares a toy → peer smiles and plays WITH them (not a sticker)
🏆 Child finishes a challenge → group celebrates together (not a prize)

Resistance bands and Theraband are powerful sensory regulation tools — especially for kids who need proprioceptive input to stay focused and regulated.

How they work:
✅ Pulling + stretching provides deep proprioceptive input to muscles and joints
✅ Resistance work activates the calming part of the nervous system
✅ Builds upper body and core strength simultaneously
✅ Satisfies the 'need to push and pull' in a constructive, purposeful way

👉 HOW TO USE:
→ Tie around chair legs at foot level — child pushes/pulls with feet during seated tasks
→ Stretching activities before or between demanding work periods
→ Resistance exercises as a proactive regulation break (not a reward)
→ Band-based obstacle course elements — crawl through, step over, pull through

💡 Pro tip: Theraband comes in resistance levels (yellow = lightest, black = heaviest). Start light and work up.
