🏆 BEST OF McKINNEY IS HERE!

For 40 years, LifePath Systems has had the privilege of serving Collin County, and McKinney has been home to so much of that work.

Voting is now open for the McKinney Chamber of Commerce Best of McKinney Awards, and we would be honored to have our community’s support. LifePath Systems provides behavioral health, intellectual and developmental disability, and early childhood intervention services to thousands of our neighbors each year. Behind that work are hundreds of employees who show up every day to serve this community.

If LifePath has made a difference for you, your family, someone you know, or simply for the community we all call home, we’d be grateful if you considered us when casting your Best of McKinney ballot.

Voting is open September 1 through October 1.

One important note: The ballot is built by the community. If you don’t see LifePath Systems listed in a category where you believe we belong, you can nominate us first, then be sure to go back and cast your vote. A nomination alone does not count as a vote.

Small moments of joy can make a big difference in managing stress.

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month.

Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is simply start a conversation. Reach out to a loved one. Ask how they’re really doing. Let them know you’re there to listen—without judgment.

Talking openly about su***de does **not** plant the idea. In many cases, a caring, direct conversation can help someone feel less alone and more willing to seek support.
Want to feel more prepared to help? Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to recognize signs that someone may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge, start a supportive conversation, and connect them with appropriate help.

We had the opportunity to learn more about LifePath Systems’ IDD Crisis Intervention Services at their quarterly community meeting. Thank you to Austin Belrose, Director of IDD Services, and Jonathan Steele, Lead of IDD Crisis Intervention Services, for hosting us and giving us a better understanding of how these important services support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities during times of crisis.

Throwback Thursday: Before we were LifePath Systems, the 1998–99 Texas Almanac listed us as Collin County MHMR Center, founded in 1986.

At that time, the Almanac recorded 1,263 mental health clients and 637 individuals served through IDD services.

A lot has changed since then — including our name, the services we provide and the number of people we reach. In FY2025, LifePath’s Behavioral Health programs served 8,671 individuals, while IDD services supported 2,264.

Behind every number is a person, a family and a story. As we celebrate 40 years, we’re proud of how our organization has grown while continuing to serve the Collin County community.
